Went in for lunch recently with my dad and a friend. Had some tasty meals and enjoyed our visit with great service. I would definitely come back again π
The bar itself is situated on the busy main road in Monton, with on road parking nearby and the pay and display car park nearby with good transport links.
It has sheltered outside seating, as well as an upstairs tiki bar and a downstairs main area which are both well decorated. When we visited it was a bit cold inside though π
The food itself looked and tasted great, with plenty of different options. We had a veggie breakfast, scrambled eggs with nduja and a poached egg on sourdough with mushrooms and spinach. And the tea and coffee were decent as well.
The service was great, the waitress was very helpful and a credit to the business. We were able to make sure the nduja wasn't too spicy and managed to refill my teapot with more hot water as well as being offered condiments and extra napkins with our meal π
The only downside is that even though this was a good visit and we had tasty food and good drinks, there are more preferable places to have lunch at in monton IMO.
As a venue, food establishment and service wise can't really fault it apart from being a bit cold inside. But it's probably more of an evening drinking venue than a lunchtime eatery. And even though I definitely would visit again, there are other places nearby I would rather grab lunch at π
Overall another good option for lunch in Monton with a good selection of tasty food and definitely worth a visit if you haven't been in...

Came for an βattemptedβ brunch today with my parents and 1 year old baby. Asked straight away for a high chair and was told they would get one, 10 minutes later nothing so asked again and was told they only had 2 and they were both in use. Next the coffees come with no teaspoons, asked for teaspoons and told us theyβd run out (seriously!?)
Proceeded to order food, half an hour later we overheard waitress telling another table that came in a while after us there was no bacon left, nobody came to us so we presumed ours was the last of it. Another 15 minutes later waitress comes to tell us βI donβt know if youβve overheard but thereβs no baconβ and asking if we wanted to order something else. I asked if the rest of the breakfast was ready given the amount of time weβd already been waiting with a restless toddler on my knee and she said no. We therefore decided enough was enough and I informed them that we would not be paying for our coffees given the failings and utter waste of time. 10 minutes later the manager comes over with the bill insisting we had to pay as this is a βfamily run businessβ. I would have thought a family run business would do better.
The worst thing about the whole ordeal is that nobody apologised or acknowledged their failings. The staff and in particular the manager were...
Β Β Β Read moreI hired 'The Hideaway' which is located underneath Edison for my birthday at the end of the June. I spoke with Luke via Instagram to arrange it who was very helpful and accommodating. I paid Β£250 refundable deposit based on a very reasonable minimum bar spend. We had the venue from 6pm till 1am but were able to go a little earlier to set up the tablet to connect via bluetooth to the speaker system.
The speaker system was on point, we were able to have it at a decent volume and play our Spotify playlist. We'd easily covered the minimum spend half way through the night. Everyone commented on how good the space was, there is a great mix of seating and standing areas to ensure those who want to sit can and those who want to dance can!
Great range of drinks, lovely staff, private toilets were an added bonus, they have air con too which was greatly appreciated!
If you're looking for a venue to host a party, this is...
