Loaf Mcr — Restaurant in Salford

Hi!! Popped in yesterday because I wanted to treat my girls and a potential love interest to a sweet treat… they always say a way to a man’s heart is food especially if it’s not cooked by yours truely. Sadly the date night was postponed, which was a shame because Aiden was brilliant at making me feel utterly gorgeous!! The customer service was fabulous and welcoming, and the shop itself is so cute and a massive dopamine hit. I choose: Manchester Tart, Lemon, Peanutbutter and Biscoff. So the fella didn’t get to try them but the girls got to try all the flavours and I can happily say the Manchester Tart and lemon cake together are brilliant (classic combo) and the peanut butter was just sensational. The biscoff was lovely but not my personal fave, but that’s just my preference and not the cake itself. All went down a storm and as for the fella… he missed out on a taste sensation and he didn’t even know, but I’m sure it would have been different had he known these cakes were on the table as well as little old me!!! From the outside looking in, a great looking cafe! Unfortunately another business in Manchester with exceptionally poor ownership. The owner here is incapable of paying his staff on time and instead pays them weeks late, coming up with excuses and pointing fingers at the accountants and banks, never taking any responsibility for the wellbeing of any of his staff. Some staff went up to 2 and a half months without pay recently and this is becoming a sad reality due to greedy business owners in Manchester. If you run a business, your staff are your responsibility - a real shame as the staff are lovely, creative and talented people however it ends up putting money in the pocket of a condescending and incapable owner who spends his money going out all over the city and leaves his staff...

Update: aiden has got in touch since to find out what happened. While you can’t change what did happened, I appreciate the effort he made to solve the issue. I do appreciate the effort. Thank you.

I used to really like Loaf so this is extra sad. There was no queue yet the staff made no acknowledgment that i was even there. Eventually I called him asking if there was a wait on coffee and he said 10 mins. You could have literally just said that quickly as you’re making your drink. Instead you let me stand there and made me ask about it. Thanks to this I had no time to pop over anywhere else and had to return to the office with no coffee.
