Mexicali Monton — Restaurant in Salford

This has to be the absolute worst food me abs my husband have been served anywhere. Wec ordered the chicken wings, loaded sweet corn and nachos to start. They came. My husband’s chicken wings were minuscule, but we were hungry and he ate them. The corn was obviously prepared way in advance, pilled with feta and forgotten to be reheated. Was absolutely freezing. And the nachos were on a side plate, the bottom of the bag of chips all broken with hardly any cheese, no flavor. My kids could have made better. We’re sent them away and awaited our tacos o ordered prawn my husband fish. Well once again mine came i almost gagged when I bit into my king prawn which was again almost cold but literally water squirted into my mouth on biting with a bad taste. My husband’s fish, looked like cheap bought in fish bites from Aldi, sorry Aldi your foods better. It was my birthday treat which, after not eating anything apart from my husband chicken wings which more resembled sparrows, they still insisted we pay for them and our drinks? I would have imagined a professional establishment when encountering such poor quality food and not eating would have comped them out of the inconvenience. Also the amount of deliveroo couriers that came in while we sat and pushed passed made us feel we were in a cheap takeaway. We went next door to the Thai and the food was absolutely top glass. Don’t waste your money or time....

10/10 for service! Staff were great. We weren’t overly impressed with the food. Nachos for £14 I’d expect a bit more, a plate of around 20 nachos with some bought in guacamole and salsa. We had no cheese sauce on ours but the table next to us did and it was too late for us to ask as we were onto our mains. Maine were okay but we both said we could have made it at home and enjoyed it more. We sat in the front outside area and our clothes stank of the food when we got home. Our waitress really made our night! She was so friendly and helpful. So was the waiter who mixed the drinks.

The cocktails in this place were the best and reasonably priced. Try the spicy marg!
