Ordered 4 mains for 4 people from here as our usual in Walkden was closed. First thing I noticed is that it was £15 more expensive than the place we order from.

Order arrived and one of the meals was a weird pink colour and the chicken looked and tasted off.

Secondly, for some mental reason they decided to send 3 mains and one starter. So my meal consisted of half a plates worth of food (yet was still charged about £7 for it). When I called them to complain they said "oh I thought you wanted that one as a starter". Why on earth would we want 3 mains and 1 starter? Who would order this way? We'd surely have got a few starters. I said 4 MAINS at the start of the order.

Refused any kind of refund and told if we go again ask to speak to him and he'll "sort you out" on your next order. Like we're ever going to order from them again.

So in a nutshell, they're a massive rip off, get your order wrong by sending starters instead of mains, and then when you get the food some of it looks like it's come out of a dog's bowl. The worst takeaway I've ever had.

UPDATE: I note that Shabaz have replied with a MASSIVE LIE. They DID NOT offer my next order free. Utter liars! Not only do they serve bad food and get your order wrong, they then LIE about how they dealt with the complaint. I requested a refund. They refused. They implied they'd ensure the order was correct if I were to order again. At NO POINT did they offer a free meal. Nor would I ever want to take them up on this offer, such was the shoddy quality.

Shows the sign of a terrible business where they dismiss any complaints when made privately but as soon as the complaint is put on Google they act like saints to try to salvage the damage that their own bad customer service has caused. Learn how to deal with customer complaints at the first opportunity rather than...

Really gutted the food just wasn't what we expected from the reviews. Not sure if this is a takeaway issue? Maybe the food is fresher in the restaurant? The curry I ordered was so greasy, you could see the oil pooling and the texture was slippery and really unpleasant. The layer of spice and herbs just wasn't there like you would expect from authentic Indian cuisine. Never a fan of chips but they were awful, wrinkly, no potato content, greasy and cold. The chicken was 50/50, some breast meat but some thigh meat mixed in which I just wouldn't expect in the dish I ordered. The lamb was also inconsistent, some pieces tender but others chewy. Credit where it's due the seekh were lovely and soft and very tasty. The tikka masala was the strangest colour I've ever seen, not sure why? If ordering takeaway I would stick to the kebab in naan, chicken and seekh not lamb. Sadly the free onion bhajis were so dry, maybe make them smaller and serve 4 instead of 2 large dry ones. On the plus side delivery was on point and the driver was...

21st and 25th Dec 24 I felt I needed to add a comment after reading Diane Reilly's review. Our experience was so different, yet the same day. Perhaps time booked in made a difference!!! My husband had prawn balti - full of prawns. My traditional meal - lots of turkey, veg just beautiful, roasters to perfection. Sorry your exp different than our!! Visited on 21st for my son's birthday - he was visiting from France. He looks forward to an Indian meal - mixed tandori. We had a lovely time. All the food was absolutely scrumptious. Then we went for Christmas lunch. My 97 year old mum thought that the traditional turkey with all the trimmings was cooked to perfection (and she is fussy!). My husband, daughter and grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed Indian food. We all had a wonderful food experience. The staff were so attentive. The new decor is stunning - well done to you all at the Shahbaaz! We will definitely be...

Went for a meal for my partners birthday as a party of 9, staff were incredible and couldn’t do enough to help us, extremely welcoming from the start. The food was lovely and came within reasonable time for the amount of food we ordered I personally got the lamb rogan Josh and was worried the lamb would be quite fatty but it was perfect and no fat on it! My partner had the chicken tikka masala along with 2 other people on our table who all complimented how delicious it was, staff were back and forth taking drink orders and bringing stuff to our table, also accommodated children preparing them a meal they’d eat. Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to go back! Thankyou everyone!

We’ve been coming here for over 30 years as a family. Indian meals and Christmas Day. Cannot fault, the team are brilliant. My parents found this place in around 1990 , it’s now a family tradition to come for Christmas lunch, brings us all back together. And it’s our favourite Indian restaurant. Fantastic food, quick and attentive service. Extremely welcoming , and the staff have been there years. They always remember us and make every meal wonderful. Great at recommending dishes and will always cater for changes to the dish. Yesterday (Christmas day) did not disappoint, and the new interior is beautiful. Thank you all for a wonderful day as always.
