Smash Official Manchester — Restaurant in Salford

Atmosphere was good. Service and food was rubbish. I am giving this place 1* as I had a bad experience 2/3 times. I tried the burger the first time and it was 5/5 came the next day to get it again because it was good only to find when I get home the burgers we're not dipped and the taste was completely different. Went again the same day at night and told them what had happened to me, they ensured me it would not happen again and apologized anyway I got home and the burgers had the same issue, the taste was different and it didn't seem like it was dipped. I rang them they said they had dipped it after going back and forth they finally said the taste may be different because we changed our dip sauce as we had complaints it was too spicy. If this is the case I understand however they should put a notice up of their change in some way they didn't even tell us when I complained the first time. Finally decided to try Smash’s spicy dipped chicken burger after trying many elsewhere. Call me the spicy chicken burger connoisseur!

The fillet was juicy however the spice level was much milder compared to Phillys or Dallas, however what it lacks in spice, it makes up for in flavour. I can’t quite determine the flavour profile, but I’d say it’s more sweet leaning without the heavy salt content like many others. Overall I’d say, if your into Manchesters iconic spicy dipped burgers, give smash a chance! The fries portion is laughable however, I know there’s a cost of living but I’m sure it wouldn’t break the bank to include a few more chips!

The decor is pretty modern, bright and attractive and there’s always room to sit in.

My only criticism is the extremely unfriendly staff here. Customer service is non existent so don’t expect basic manners or even a simple smile. Overall it puts people off wanting to return and I’m in no rush to go back for...

Tried there new and improved spicy fillet burger meal and was pleasantly surprised The burger was huge and they now use regular seeded burger which I prefer over the horrible brioche ones that squish into pancakes ,the mayo quality was nice and spicy sauce was decent id prefer it to be slightly more spicer.

The chips were super fresh with a nice amount of peri salt just wish they had some complimentary sauces ONLY for when dining in like other shops do

The mango wings were nice too They do both fried or grilled wings in this sauce so you need to tell them. Only downside about the wings are there tiny nibblets but there social media pictures shows 2 piece scissors wings so slightly disappointed with that however all things considered I still giving them 4 stars
