Chicking Wednesbury — Restaurant in Sandwell

Location: Not the easiest to get to. You can park on public (pay and display) car park at rear of shopping precinct and walk or if you’re lucky enough to find a space on Upper High Street & walk through the shopping precinct. Either way it’ll take about 3/4 minutes at a reasonable pace.

Service: I’ve given this establishment 1 star on service because it is non existent. Communication and service with a smile doesn’t appear to be something they put any value on. Also they fail to tell you it’s a really long wait for a bucket of chicken as it’s all made after you’ve placed the order and paid.

Food: It’s very much like every other fast food chicken restaurant to be honest. Nothing exciting or different but it’s decent.

They sell french fries here and not chips. The portion size is underwhelming. What they sell as ‘large’ is a regular in a lot of other places.

There aren’t any in-house sauces, it’s all retail packs.

In addition to the fried chicken menu there is also on offer milkshakes, ice creams and cookies.

Pricing: It’s not overly pricy and very much in keeping with other local fast food restaurants...

After receiving some marketing material in the post a couple of weeks ago, my family decided to give these guys a go.

From the first telephone contact the service was not only professional but elegant and gentlemanly. The receptionist acknowledged that we didn't quite know their menu and was polite, cordial and patient.

The delivery time was much shorter than expected (40 - 50 min as stated on the marketing). The food was warm and fresh.

The quality and taste of the meal was impeccable: extremely tasty and lovely texture, moist (not dry) and not oily at all.

We've eaten a lot of KFC before, but honestly, these guys are WAAAYYY better and will be seeing our patronage again!

I have phoned the restaurant to compliment them and I found it exceedingly impressive how humble the manager/owner was with whom I spoke.

During my visit this afternoon l felt they were short staffed but they took in in their stride. I was spoilt for choice. I ended up choosing 5 hot wings with a portion of fries. They served me with fresh fries and for £4.28 the food was nice and tasty and the wings reminded me of KFC hot wings but l prefer KFC hot wings 😋. The food took abt 10 minutes to cook but it was worth the wait. The shop was clean and the staff looked to be hygienic. I took the food away and devoured it in 15 minutes as it was very hot. Decent quality food and a wide array of choice makes it worthwhile visiting. Overall l would recommend this place to others. One issue was they had old paper menus which had the older cheaper prices.
