Avoid this place, terrible customer service and food.if I could give 0 stars I would, when receiving our food my mother food was burnt to a crisp, the server was so rude about this stating that she was busy, at no point did my mother shout at her, my sister asked for bbq sauce the same server then rudely said you have to pay for it, which was not a problem but the expression on her face showed us that she clearly had an issue with us as a table. When I approached the assistant manager to speak about her unprofessional behaviour the same server comes from around the bar to have an argument with me in front of the whole restaurant, this really shocked and took me back as I have never experience such absurd customer service in my life, at no point did the restaurant assistant manager intervene but let her speak to me in this rude way, she even had the audacity to say as a paying customer I was “unprofessional” due to voicing my opinion on how I was being dealt with. Now correct em if I’m wrong but employed of a restaurant shouting at a customer is one of the most unprofessional things you can do especially in front of a while restaurant. The Assistant manager didn’t even bother coming over afterwards to our table to try and sort the situation but instead we had to approach him at the end of our visit, he stated that his been busy and hasn’t been able to come over and maybe I should try doing his job which again as a manager should not even of been said, he carried on acting as if we was the problem even when he did not know the full story of what happened. Over I’m just really shocked of the service and how we were dealt with, I would never return and can say that this place have gone down hill from...
Read moreWe visited yesterday for a change as we usually use The Amber Tavern. We ordered the Tandoori chicken super subs 3 with chips and 1 with curly fries as we really enjoy these when we have them from The Amber Tavern. We ordered via the order and pay app and drinks and food both came quickly, the food came out and we could see straight away that this was not the way we were used to be served this sub. The baguette was still part baked and hadn't been put in the oven to cook, I imagine you marinate the chicken or you order it in pre marinate and finish on the grill for speed the chicken we got yesterday had barely been warmed through and was cold, the onion barji was sloppy and not crispy, the subs were just not to the standard we are used to enjoying from The Amber Tavern we had to complain because not one of the four of us who ordered them could eat them and they are a favourite of ours. The food was taken away and the manager said it would take some time to replate but we didnt fancy it now as we had been put off so we asked for our money back as we would like to leave, our money was returned to us but I don't feel the complaint was dealt with very well if I had been given the chance I would have explained the difference and how it was clear the food had not been served to spec and it was clear to see from the eye it had not been served to spec so I am really not sure why this food was allowed to leave the pass. I get things go wrong and noone is perfect but the spec is there for a reason to ensure consistency throughout the brand and these two site 10mins from each other could not be...

It is not often that one stumbles upon somewhere that is so dire, seemingly on purpose, almost like a saboteur is running the place.
The Good Lady and I, finding ourselves rather peckish, decided to swerve into here for some dinner. A decision we were to regret.
A proper tradesmen's pub, which, in and of itself is not a problem. However, pissed up brickies in each and every corner of the venue and outside is not what one wants, when it's not even 1830hrs. Interestingly they all seemed to drive home as well.
Having bought me and the missus a drink, outside we went. It was then that I noticed that I had been charged twice. Back to the bar I went but was told to come back tomorrow if it doesn't resolve itself. Two days on and it still hasn't.
The missus ordered dirty fries to accompany her lasagna. Well, when they arrived you've never seen such an apologetic bowl (more like an egg cup) of chips. I would be surprised if there were more than 15 - £2.99 they were expensive. And they came about ten minutes before our main.
I played it safe with a mixed grill, I actually rather enjoyed it. Whereas the missus was 50/50 on her main.
Because of the debacle with the dirty fries she was promised a free dessert. Taking the opportunity to readdress the double charge for the drinks to the bar I went. Thereupon something odd happened and I became invisible. Because nobody behind the bar managed to see me, despite me trying to request the desert and my refund.
I walked out after a couple of minutes of this.
Total and utter piece take. Rubbish. Don't waste...
