I don’t normally leave reviews, but after today’s experience at My Morning Club (Adas), I feel like I have to say something — because this wasn’t just a one-off bad day. This is our fourth visit, and while the food and coffee are honestly some of the best we’ve had anywhere, the service from one specific waitress has been shockingly bad every single time she’s served us.
Let’s start at the beginning.
Visit #1: We ordered food and drinks. Our food came out — but no coffees, no water. We had to ask twice for the coffee, three times for the water. There was only one other customer in the café and she was already eating. The waitress was sitting behind the counter on her phone, completely checked out. We gave her the benefit of the doubt. Maybe she was having a rough day.
Visit #2: We only ordered coffee and water. She brought the water but forgot the coffee — again. Fifteen minutes passed, still nothing. She was, once again, sitting on her phone while we waited. No rush, no customers in front of us — just pure disinterest. Another customer walked in and stood at the till waiting to order. She didn’t even look up. The chef had to come out from the back to take their order. That’s how inattentive she was.
Visit #3: Total change — different staff, fantastic service, quick, friendly, exactly what you want. We thought maybe we just got unlucky before. Turns out, we were just lucky that time not to have her.
Visit #4 (Today): We were deciding between a few places and picked My Morning Club again because we genuinely love the coffee. We had a bit of time, weren’t in a rush, and figured we’d give it another go. We ordered two cappuccinos and two waters. To our surprise, the coffees came fast. Progress? Not really — because once again, the water never came.
We reminded her after a few minutes. Still nothing. Fifteen minutes later, we had to ask again. Another ten minutes passed before we got it — served in paper cups because she said they were “out of glasses.” Not a huge deal, but honestly just lazy at that point.
My partner politely said, “We ordered these 25 minutes ago.” Her response? “You can see I’m busy. I have 17 customers.” First of all, you weren’t too busy to be back on your phone between tables. Second, we ordered the waters with the coffees. Her response? A sarcastic, “So, you got your coffees,” complete with an eye-roll and a scowl. No apology, no accountability, just pure attitude.
I told her, calmly, that every time we’ve been in, she’s forgotten our drinks. She shrugged. Didn’t care. Not even a flicker of acknowledgment that we were regular customers who’ve tried again and again to give her the benefit of the doubt.
Then came the final straw.
When my partner went in to pay, she didn’t apologize. She just blurted, “I said sorry about the waters” (which she hadn’t), and then — unbelievably — accused us of saying we’d never come back. She pointed at me from behind the counter and said, “She said it!” trying to stir up a pointless argument over something I never even said. Even if I had, why would that matter? She was more interested in proving us wrong than offering any kind of respectful customer service.
This waitress is consistently on her phone, inattentive, forgetful, and openly rude. Her body language screams, “I don’t care.” Her attitude when called out is defensive and aggressive. It’s clear she has no business working in hospitality, and she drags down an otherwise brilliant café with her complete lack of professionalism.
We’ve been telling everyone how great the coffee and food are here, but this is the last straw. We won’t be back while she’s still working here. It’s one thing to have an off day. It’s another to repeatedly ruin the customer experience, ignore guests, forget orders, argue with customers, and treat feedback like a personal attack.
To the owners: You’re losing business because of this one staff member. Train her, move her off the floor, or replace her. The food deserves better. Your customers...
Read moreI usually would brunch here once monthly, haven't been for over 3 months and what a disappointment today..all new staff, only one other table with diners, wouldn't previously have came without reservation for Sunday brunch as could very busy. Ordered usual strawberry cream French toast- same price but only two bread slices instead of three. The bread was too thick and doughy and not sufficiently soaked in egg mixture, the cream was UHT 'squirty' cream as opposed to the fresh, vanilla whipped cream that used to accompany the french toast. Most distressing of all was the Chef, who, for the 50 minutes we were there, 3 times walked out of the kitchen, which is open plan to dining area, out of the entrance to then stand right outside the cafe smoking/vaping.. If he had been doing this when we arrived, I wouldn't have gone in. After several years of brunching here, I will not returning and will be suggesting to friends to...
Read moreWent to Locker today, no customers which is fine. Waiting staff and I presume the chef were both there and said it had been quiet all day. Waiting staff asked if we would like food to which I replied yes. She asked if we were ok to wait 5 minutes as chef had gone to get some shopping!! Bit bizarre on a Saturday. We ordered a latte and a Diet Coke and sat and sat and sat! I asked when the chef would be back to be told at the shop as they ran out of items, didn’t quite understand this as they had hardly had any customers all day. I ordered a scone for the lady I was with. It was rock hard and burnt! I mentioned it to the girl and she said she wouldn’t charge me for it. In actual fact I shouldn’t have been charged for anything. Such a shame as we really liked Locker but won’t be...
