An unplanned stop in Dunbar around lunch time meant we had no plans for food. So we popped into Street Burger with the kids and dog yesterday.

That was fortunate. The name Street Burger (with a nod to the arcade game of my youth) gives away the menu. Lot’s of toppings, slightly dramatic sounding names. Don’t worry, they have your back.

You won’t be amazed to hear that good burgers start with quality ingredients. No problems on that front. Patties were excellent, and really well cooked. Incredibly they weren’t smashed as seems to be the fashion. Yet they still managed to be very good. Brioche buns as is the standard, and a wide selection of fillings, in the street food style.

Kids opted for more straightforward fare. Clas-sik Street and one with cheese. 10/10 from the demanding audience. Better half had the Naat-yo cheese (salsa, crushed nachos, cinema cheese sauce and jalapeños) Finished at the quick time as me - I attack food and she’s a slow eater so that tells it’s own story. I had the Fire in the mooth. Cheddar, Jalapeños, Fresh chillis, onion, sirahca and street sauces. Spicy and delicious. Special mention for the fries. Big portions. Kids seasoned fries were completely finished (a first) and the good lady and I shared the nacho cheese and jalapeños. Amazing. “Soda” and bottled water were reasonable. We didn’t have shakes, but they looked good from afar! All in all 5 of us fed and the dog watered for about 40 quid.

If you are in the area I highly recommend stopping in. It’s a fairly new business so reviews are important. Service was brilliant. Attentive but not overbearing.

Annoyingly I didn’t take any photos of the food. We had a hangry 7 year old.

Ps. Kids got a treat for finishing food (a kinder bueno!) not that they needed bribed as the burger was up there with the ones in the Steak house at Rixos Premium Belek! (According to Remi 9)

Deeply disappointed, the other evening my wife placed an order for delivery to the pub that there is a collaboration with for ordering to. We waited 50 minutes and no sign of two burgers and chips. We phoned and were told it was on its way (the pub is 5 mins away walking) 20 minutes later still no delivery and so we requested to cancel and have the money refunded. This ruined our evening. We then walked past the place 5 mins later, it was empty and they were closing and clearly were never going to deliver our order. I also want to point out there were a lot more poor reviews of this establishment but it seems they have managed to have them removed. An absolute disgrace.

Been a few times now & I’ll be back ! Staff have always been efficient & very friendly with the bonus of excellent fresh made burgers. The menu also caters for those that require a meat free option. My normal motorcycle chippy run to different places down the east coast with mates, has now taken us back to Dunbar a few times over the last month, just to try a different burger from the menu.

Where are these reviews coming from?

The nice entrance really sets up the customer for disappointment.

Burgers expensive and taste like the ones you get from a 90s leisure centre. Food is subpar and frozen.

Fries are also definitely frozen.

Drinks are uncarbonated and warm.

Upon asking staff to correct the above not a single care in the world.

This new business was an obvious undertaking by someone who potentially ran a partially successful business in the past and has just become lazy.

EDIT - Thanks for response from owner. Unfortunately questioning my integrity won't solve any issues. Please address or expect customers to vote with their feet. And by the look of your trip advisor reviews I think...
