It is a very inviting bar, just what my wife and I were hoping for after checking online to see if it was dog friendly. It was a very busy Saturday early evening, so admittedly not ideally suited for us and the dog perhaps. However, we got a seat and I ordered a couple of drinks. Just after they were poured another member of staff advised us dogs were not welcome after 7pm (I think another customer complained). Apparently there is a sign on the door, but didn't spot it on the way in. She granted us the ok to finish our drinks but would have to leave afterwards. Fair enough - no argument. I did however marvel that our round, consisting of a pint of wheat beer and a large G&T (bog standard), cost an eye-watering ÂŁ25.50!! I had convinced myself (and my wife - I already had the task of telling her "enjoy your drink, we can't stay for another") that I had misheard, but I checked later and it was right enough. The only reason I don't give this place 5 starts is choice. There isn't a huge range of spirits. This isn't really something I suppose the management could do that much about as it's not a huge bar, but be that as it may, that takes a star off it for me.
Other than that, this is a really nice little bar and...

This certainly needs a Rebuttal, perhaps even in the Bart Simpson way... what on earth went wrong?
I am delighted to say that we found it interesting, with spotless tables, alert and friendly service and a happy atmosphere amongst the clientele; efficient glass collecting, and with particularly well-maintained and agreeable "facilities". Plus a very welcoming doggie, although we did not call for a chess set on this occasion. Very happy to return, as we hope that yous...
