We had our first visit to this cafe today & we were pleasantly surprised at how good it was. We have tried a couple of the other cafes in Moffat & having been less than impressed with both of them we didn't expect too much but were proved to be very wrong. This cafe ticks all the boxes & is the best cafe in Moffat by far. Our order was taken quickly by a very pleasant young waiter, who even insisted on cleaning our already gleaming table. We both had the home made lentil soup & a sandwich. We loved the soup, which came with a portion of home made croutons. The sandwich fillings were plentiful & of good quality ingredients, accompanied by a small side salad. We almost indulged in a slice of home made lemon & lime cheesecake, which looked tempting in the extreme, but admitted defeat after our large lunch & managed to resist the temptation. Next time maybe..... This cafe certainly gives the other cafes in Moffat something to think about & we will definitely...

I found myself in Moffat, early on a Sunday Morning, looking for breakfast and not expecting to find much. Google maps told me cafe Ariete opened at 8, so I thought I would give it a try.

The cafe was surprisingly busy, including families, staff were friendly and cheerful and I was given a menu.

I took a traditional breakfast with a choice of bread and scrambled or fried eggs, a cappuccino and some water. The food arrived quite quickly and was very good. I was pleased there were no beans, I can't cope with them and eggs touching each other.

The atmosphere was good, a lot of effort has gone into decor, making it look like an old- fashioned cafe, yet with some modern touches at the same time.

Staff checked that everything was okay in passing, and seemed to be enjoying themselves. I commented that I was surprised they were open that early on a Sunday, and they said the summer had been quite busy.

All-in- all a pleasant find with good food and...

Excellent.. Club toastie was super filled and cooked perfectly. Nice staff and good strong coffee, would say definitely best cafe in Moffat. Bacon and double black pudding roll was cooked how I like which is excellent every single time, yeah there's posher places in Moffat but this places food will compete with and maybe even beat the higher priced establishments, and all with much friendlier staff and cheaper prices. The place is run like a team very efficient but all happy and constructive to ensure customers satisfaction, you can tell staff are happy to be there and happy to help you with anything you need. Bacon is 5 star quality not stuff that shrinks to nothing.. like every other cafe in Moffat. This is the only Cafe I ever go to in Moffat as consistently beats the rest of competitors I've tried them all more than once but will only ever use this place in future dew to consistently being the best in...

On holiday nearby and another quick trip into Moffat to see what we could find in the way of good coffee and child-pleasing lunch. Ice cream milkshakes of vanilla, and most of all salted caramel and the oreo versions were favourites and drew comments from our table about how we must come back. Black Americano was divine - best coffee in town, so says the sign outside and indeed the best coffee I've had in a long while. Lunch-wise BLT panini and smoked salmon and scrambled egg on toast for the adults, plentiful tuna mayo on bloomer and tuna and cheddar panini for the kids -great value for money and the staff were incredible- child friendly, not too intrusive, respectful and were good enough to box/takeaway cup up stuff that bigger eyes than tummies could manage. Look no further- see you soon Ariete x

Lovely place in the heart of Moffat! We were visiting on our way up to the Highlands and it was great seeing so many locals having breakfast and coffee there. Service was wonderful, the young lad who served us was super friendly and attentive, and even though they were quite busy he kept checking on us and everyone else to make sure everything was okay. We had the veggie breakfast (£9) and scrambled eggs with salmon (£9.90), all delicious and very generous portions. We were also pleasantly surprised with the coffee, barista-style, smooth and well poured - extra points for having oat milk! Overall, I highly recommend this place for breakfast or even just a stop for a nice coffee. For those travelling with pet companions, sadly they don’t allow dogs inside (that’s our only ‘but’!)
