We arrived and were greeted by a 12-14 year old carrying a large tray of crockery who nudged us towards a table in the corner to which we sat and waited 12 minutes for menus to be put on the table after that we ordered 8 minutes later and asked for Scrambled eggs on toast, pancakes with syrup and cream and 2 waters for the table we then waited 15 minutes and all our order arrived at once with a sad single pancake for 5.50 with minimal cream and syrup we tried to get a hold of a server to ask if there was anymore to arrive but the kids were busy with dealing with other tables so we ate our meal and while eating it got quite busy with the older lady coming to save the day getting orders in as the kid got frazzled with the rush after that we got up to pay and the kid cleared our table while we were getting our coats on after that we paid and mentioned the sad pancake with the slow service and she apologised I mentioned that I would probably reccomend some light training for the young servers and rather than having matching uniforms and she replayed frustratingly thank you overall the young servers were doing the best they could with what they had quite...
Read moreVisited this restaurant on Sunday 4th December with family 7 adults and 1 child, I have visited before and enjoyed my experience however the attitude and face of your older waitress was disgraceful, we all walked in and she didn't look too happy, we asked if we could put two tables close together and she muttered something under her breath and was not too happy so we decided not to stay where we weren't wanted and left. I feel that the restaurant wasn't too busy and that moving two tables would not have caused too much disruption, even if she had greeted us nicely and said that we couldn't do this that would have been fine but her face said it all. So sadly we wont be back in your restaurant and I visit it regularly meeting my Dad from Dumfries. There are a lot of eating places in Moffat and you would have thought she would have been glad of the business, but its probably not her business so she couldn't care less it would have meant she had to work harder...

A traditional café with restful décor and a choice of seating from wooden tables and chairs to comfy black leather sofas. There are also a few tables outside. The toilets are up a few steps at the back of the café and were very clean. Classic café fare on the menu: breakfasts, sandwiches and light meals. Had a jacket potato with prawns in marie rose sauce, served with a generous helping of salad. The meal was tasty and filling though the potato was only lukewarm. Good strong pot of tea. Service was quick and the waitress was very pleasant. Some gorgeous looking cakes on display at the counter but did not get time to try one! Very convenient location on the...
