Caffè Nero — Restaurant in Scotland

Hmm there was a time when it was a pleasure to go into this Caffe Nero but todays experience was somewhat lacking.im trying to make allowances for the fact that everywhere is just re-opening and staff are under pressure in a lot of ways but I just thought there was something missing today.i wouldn't say the service was friendly more sort of going through the motions.i had to clear the previous customers tray from our table and it was clear that tables were NOT being cleaned in between customers.coupled with that there was no active promotion of test and trace being operated.with the exception of posters on the wall with a QR code that u were supposed to scan, which I didnt see one customer doing.my son enjoyed his panini but my bar of chocolate was on the point of melting amd my daughters gluten free cake was soggy!!Compared to other cafes and hospitality outlets Caffe Nero needs to think a wee bit about pulling its socks up based on this visit.definite room for...

We came in for a coffee and a sandwich, hoping for a nice time (that's why we didn't go to Greggs), wanted a better place. While waiting in the queue, we couldn't help but notice the counter, and it was a mess –horrendously dirty and dusty. It was obvious to any guest, and it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. The tables were very dirty, and there were crumbs on the sofas.

Then we got our reheated sandwich, but the cutlery was filthy, with chocolate cake remnants from the previous guest on the fork. I asked for new ones and still had to wipe them with napkins. You really need a strong manager to keep an eye on cleanliness. The ceiling near the toilet needs a wee bit of repair as well.

Please pay attention to these issues. It used to be better, but after this visit, I'm not sure...

I always love Nero coffee. First time in this particular one and staff were friendly and coffee was fab as usual.. Only quibble was that during these times (virus) i was very upset to see the male member of staff leave the counter to clear tables. He cleared a few tables of cups and food containers and put them in the bin (no tables washed) he then went to the chilled cabinet and straightened pre packed sandwiches, he then went behind the counter on his phone, served a customer ALL WITHOUT WASHING OR SANITISING HIS HANDS! 😡 He had...
