After a 60-mile drive My partner and I always go for meals on a Saturday. I have never in my life had such terrible and revolting food in my life. Prices are not reflected in the quality of food. The food was Farmfoods grade well worse . Greasy , frozen food . I couldn't eat out the main meal . Staff were embarrassed when they asked if our meal was okay . We told them it was absolutely horrendous . Microwave pre packed food. Rubber chicken . Sauce was horrible and had skin over it . Food was cremated . The starter was worse, a sharing plater for £19 that was dripping in oil. Prawns were rubber and tasted off . Sweet potato chips were disgusting. Dips were McDonalds rated . I threw up on the way home . Hardly ate anything. Sent the food back. Waited 15 mins . No one came to our table with a resolve . Had to shout for a staff member . No resolution. We were refunded for the main meals. Place needs a complete overhaul in decoration . Furniture was awful and uncomfortable. Carpets need replaced the smell was awful . I would have been very interested to see what the kitchen was like . Going by food standards, environmental health should be called to inspect the whole establishment. Family run business and not one proper home made recipy. As we looked around, we could see people who were not happy with their meals. Poor in many areas all round in decor. Hygiene. Food standards. Place needed a good clean .I wouldn't have fed my dog what we got . I would definitely recommend not going. As I said, I ate very little and threw up on the way home. I don't understand why people have left good reviews, but the negative reviews are bang on . There are no family old style recipes. We ordered from the specials menu. Wasn't anything special at all . Prices are ridiculous for what's produced and served . No manager came to speak with us . Of which is highly unprofessional. Wasn't impressed at the customer service. The girls on the floor were very nice and attentive. Wasted working in this establishment. The waiter that took our food away couldn't even look at us . We were not rude . We told them politely the food was awful . Explained why . As we have experience in hospitality many years. We don't understand why people have left good feedback, but look further, there are many negative reviews. When we have our date night, we visit many restaurants. Don't mind prices at all if it's reflected in the quality of food and service. Not one supervisor or manager came to talk to us.Which is shocking .

Locals seemed to be enjoying themselves at the bar area. But the restaurant didn't have any atmosphere. Very dull and depressing .

All the food is pre -made boil in the bag microwave. Apart from the steaks, even they looked terrible poor...

Arrived on a busy Friday night on Burns'Week. The place was full and we hadn't made a reservation. The staff was unflappable! We were told it would be 30 minutes for a table to dine at, but in just a couple of minutes were escorted kindly to a small table at the bar area to enjoy drinks and given menus to place our food order while we waited for a dining table to open. The drinks menu was exceptionally good! Although, I have to admit, I would have liked to see some Scotch Ales/Wee Heavy beers at a bar in Scotland!

Our table was ready before expected, and the food arrived within a few minutes. We had the haggis, neeps and tatties, a steak and ale pie, and a lasagna. All were superbly done! The haggis came with a side of whiskey and cream sauce which enhanced the flavor greatly - especially the neeps!

I cannot stress enough how friendly and helpful each member of the staff here was! From the bar, to the servers, to the maitre d, to the hostess and even the young lady acting as a bus person obviously in her first job. This place was packed and they all handled it with grace and kindness....

Went on the 1st of October because it was my 25th birthday, I had booked a table since about a week before when we went in was met with a bad vibe all the staff look very grumpy and don’t know how to smile when serving or dealing with customers. On top of this my friend had ordered a mac and cheese served with chips so when it came after waiting 55 mins since ordering honestly they had just thrown a lot of cheese over the top to hide the fact that the mac and cheese was more like soup because it was very watery when called over staff the ‘owner’ got very rude with my friend because all she was stating was that no way they should be charged £12 for meal if it’s not meeting it’s standards so owners tone changed and started to call my friend rude even tho she was not being so owner also continued to say that we was the reason hospitality is going down hill I was so shocked to be spoken to like that even tho owner was not happy to do so he took the meal of the receipt but we was still paying almost £50 for some drinks and some sides which we did cover. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT AVOID...

Excellent find for a pub meal in Dumfries. Really friendly and chatty staff who couldn't do enough for you. Walked in with no booking on a Sunday and they happily accommodated us. Sat in a lovely, heated extension with TVs in at the back of the building. Would choose to sit out there again. Food was very reasonably priced, and came in huge, high quality portions. Would definitely recommend anything on the menu with their haggis or any of the burgers. Best thing was they did chippy chips! Will definitely be back.

I would say booking is a must. We had a party of 9. If we did not book, we would not have got in. Great atmosphere in here for a Sunday tea time. The tables were full. The food was very good, and gluten-free options were available. I had the fillet of pork and creamy whiskey sauce with chunky chips and veg off the Christmas menu. Very delicious. And to top it off gluten-free Christmas pudding with ice cream. Service was good and staff were very friendly and helpful. Good place to go for food.
