The New Oriental Restaurant — Restaurant in Scotland

Just wow. I moved to Dumfries a year ago and have been desperately trying to find a decent Chinese that can cook crispy shredded beef the correct way! After a year of disappointment receiving soggy battered slimy 'crispy' shredded beef from various Chinese takeaways in Dumfries and just as I was beginning to accept the fact that I would just have to make the 200 mile round trip back home to collect my favourite dish, I found the new oriental! Not only is their crispy shredded beef amazing, I would actually go as far as saying it's the best I've ever had. Do not even bother trying any other Chinese in Dumfries! I have tried most of them and the new oriental wins hands down!! I ordered crispy shredded beef in honey and garlic sauce with noodles and some prawn toast it was absolutely Amazing! I will now be a regular customer here! The staff are friendly too and the place was clean and tidy !Iliterally can not recommended this...

Having read the reviews we were prepared for a good dining experience. Unfortunately the environment within the restaurant was appalling. The wallpaper was peeling off and overall the place was sad and neglected. We ordered wine from the menu. They didn't gave it. The food was passable but not outstanding.
