First of all, the service was excellent! The gentleman (possibly Spanish) done very well to attend to everyone in good time as it was fair to assume they did not expect a table of 12 to wander in on such a hot day as well as the smattering of other couples and small families around the restaurant. The food and drinks all served promptly and accurately. Great job! The food, however, was bang average at absolute best i.e. Supermarkets own brand levels type of stuff. The BBQ chicken stack was two crispy chicken breasts of poor quality with a single strip of bacon, a teaspoonful of melted cheese and seemingly the dregs of a bbq sauce bottle so it was rather basic and dry for most of the meal. The semi-warm fries, couple of onion rings, slaw & rocket will help fill you up but fail to improve the meal any. The optional half rack of ribs on the side were actually not too bad though. Well cooked, soft and somewhat tasty. Nearly £4 for a glass of fizzy juice filled with ice is to be expected in all such establishments sadly but in addition to the £24 cost of the single meal above really makes you wonder how these places survive. Be mindful of the baby-changing toilet as it makes a hell of a noise after a flush and the sink tap did not work. Overall, not value for money and low on quality but staff do a great job!

Sometimes you get the weirdest experiences in a big chain. As we entered we indicated that one of my eating companions had a gluten intolerance. We sat down and ordered drinks, and that companion ordered a simple glass of tap water. As the waitress arrived with the drinks, she realised that the gluten free diner was with me and refused to serve her the glass of tap water until she had it checked to be gluten free! A new experience for is all. Aside from that, the dining experience was pleasant. Our server (not the drinks), Ashley, was friendly and helpful. The restaurant and toilets were clean. Frankies and Benny’s have gone through some big changes recently and I haven’t forgiven them yet for taking the Calzone off the menu. It’s lost much of the whole 50’s and 60’s diner vibe that gave it character and now competes against the rest in the race to the bottom. But I can’t complain about this single restaurant. Plenty of car parking at the centre and access is great. Free wifi and when we went during the week it was very quiet. A good all round experience.

So went here with my partner for lunch for a change. Had the meatballs for a starter and was actually really good. Flavours were nice and a little spice kick in there as well with the added sausage. The hotdog and fries was not bad too. The fries were really good and the hotdog was, well, a hotdog with not so great onions and ok cooked brisket. The Toblerone cheesecake for me was a disappointment. The top two layers were nice but unfortunately the base was not very good at all. It would of been better with a classic digestive base. It was the difference between being great and rubbish sadly. Another star is taken off as I felt the end cost was a little much for what it is. I was in a 5 star hotel for dinner the previous night and had three coarses and a drink which came to £70 for two people and the food was top class. The fact this lunch cost only £12 less for much lesser quality says a lot in my opinion.

Wish I could give it 0 stars.

Arrived and had to wait a a really long time to be seated. We were given menus while we waited in line which was good. The wait was understandable as the restaurant was very busy and my boyfriend and I were very sympathetic at this as we have both worked in restaurants ourselves.

After 20 mins of waiting in line we were then seated and we told the server we knew what we wanted and gave her our menus, she said she would be right back with her notepad to take our order.

10/15 mins later we had been watching several other people around as that had been seated AFTER us placing orders and actually receiving drinks and food. These were large groups as well whereas it was just myself and my boyfriend.

Another 10 mins and we still had not even been offered drinks, servers were walking past looking at our table but not saying anything.

FINALLY got the attention of an older woman who I assume was the manager after she had finished chatting to a customer nearby (who again had ordered after us) and we asked if we could order. She asked who our server was and we said that no one had even taken our order.

She proceeded to rudely remark that because we had no menus in front of us "how was she supposed to know we wanted food?!"

I explained that we had been sitting with no drinks and clearly looking around wanting assistance, so menus shouldn't have been needed to indicate that we needed a server. We had also tried to get the help of a couple of people but they walked straight past us. She then continued on with her bad attitude arguing with me before huffing and asking "fine, what do you want?"

I told her I did not want anything as her attitude was uncalled for towards a couple who had waited for the best part of an hour to even order drinks! She smiled and said "great" and grabbed our menus from us and pointed us to the door.

I will NEVER come back here to eat again, which is a shame as I used to come every time I was going away on holiday and the service was always fine. It would have been fogiveable if the manager had been apologetic but unfortunately she seemed to have woken up on the wrong...

Last Saturday myself and my fiancee were hungry, everywhere was busy so we settled on giving a frankie and bennies chain a last chance. Unfortunately that chance was lost, admittedly this isn't the worst experience we've had, the time before made us feel sick.

Let's start with service, it was extremely busy so I don't blame the staff, but that doesn't excuse having to stop waitresses just to place our order, 30 mins before I eventually stopped someone passing buy.

Food- not only have the portion sizes shrunk considerably while the prices have increased, the quality of the food was abismle. The pizza my fiancee had was doughy, undercooked and limited in options for toppings. The burger I had on the other hand was plane, with no thought or imagination out into it, with the grittiest meat I've ever tasted, it was like chewing a cherry and spitting out the seeds. I also again comment on the size of it, for the price. It wasn't a kids meal burger I ordered, but it definitely looked like kids portions, no, that's not an issue if you're charging kid menu prices, but the price we paid for cheep quality food, not worth it.

All in all we paid £43,putting that into perspective, hungry horse is the same quality with bigger portions and cheeper on price, last visit to a hh chain was a £30 meal, with started from £4,maybe that's gone up, I'm not sure, but the point is for the quality and quantity, you can find better many other places.

Overall this was actually a good visit to frankie and bennies, which is a sad statement to make describing the state of the rest of the franchise.

What inspired me to write this review, was the advert I heard on the radio! My honest advice would be focus on improving the food instead of spending money on adverts, that is all, and we won't be back, I'm not annoyed, because I wasn't expecting much, a business needs to realise that when customers attitude to them is general apathy instead of complaint at a one time bad experience, they are in serious trouble and need to totally rethink their...
