Visited Harvester Hillington today and it was borderline OK. The woman serving (I believe her name is Maria) was very pleasant, though completely run off her feet and there seemed to be few members of staff on. Kudos to her for providing excellent service despite having a lot to do, but it did mean we had to wait a while to get her attention. In saying that, the food was just adequate and seemed like some could have just been microwaved rather than cooked fresh (though, at a chain like Harvester, this is not surprising). The rice I was served was definitely from one of those microwave sachets. We were also informed the coffee machine was out of service due to the refurbishment. This limited our options for hot drinks. Unfortunately, the ambience was affected by screaming children running around like the restaurant was a playground, and whose father didn't seem to care about the impact this would have on other diners. Staff similarly did nothing about it. I understand it's a family place, but it's also a restaurant where people go to enjoy a meal, ideally in peace. There was a group of men who were swearing loudly nearby which can't be helped, but also put a bit of a dampener on the experience. We ended up moving tables twice, which was pretty inconvenient. All in all, I wouldn't go back. Judging by my experience today, it's the kind of establishment that caters primarily to inconsiderate families and drunken louts. It wasn't for me.
Edited following response from Ruth: There were men swearing loudly in the corner. I have no reason to make this up, this is reflective of my experience. I'm not sure why it is deemed acceptable for children to run riot in a bar area. I was undoubtedly not the only customer to be annoyed by this. Hopefully other customers can read my review and determine whether this is the kind of environment they consider to be 'relaxing', that's certainty not the...
Read moreThe atmosphere is always uplifting, making it a comfortable and welcoming place to dine. The staff truly set the bar high—not only do they provide great conversations and friendly service, but they also work together seamlessly, stepping in to help one another whenever needed. The teamwork here is impeccable, and it’s clear they have a well-organized routine that keeps everything running smoothly.
Now, let’s talk about the food—absolutely delicious every single time! The presentation is always on point, exactly how it should be. My all-time favorite meals from the main menu include the burger & chips, the haddock with sage & onion chips, the spinach pasta, and of course the ✨️ribs✨️ and, more recently, the wraps they’ve introduced over the past few months. As for sides, I can’t get enough of the 🍗chicken wings—so juicy! And the cornbread? Lovely and filling. The drink options are endless, which is a nice touch and complements the food perfectly.🍻🍸
A special shoutout to the chefs in the back who are always putting in the effort to ensure every dish is top-notch. And of course, the front-of-house staff and managers—your dedication and hard work do not go unnoticed. You all go above and beyond what’s expected, and it truly shows how much you care about the establishment and your customers.
To the entire Harvester team—chefs, servers, and management—thank you for always making each...

This harvester was definitely the best one I have visited by far, the staff where amazing, they couldn't do enough for us.
We arrived as a group of scousers on the way to a Church meeting in Govan Baptist Church, the girl who served us was so lovely so catered to our every need, nothing was to much for her, even though we had arrived quite late and stopped her getting home, she was a star.
The manger on the night was fantastic, she bent over backwards to help us when our discount card didn't work properly, she was friendly, helpful and totally professional in her job roll.
I love great customer service, it is very rare in this day and age of selfishness, there two women are a credit to your company, treasure them, they are a couple of gems.
All that said, the food was absolutely amazing to, so credit to the chefs, they could have rushed it to get rid of us but they didn't, they took care and time to give a great service to, the food was brilliant and the best in any harvester I have eaten at.
Thanks for all your hard work and dedication to your job, it's rare, but it was much...
