We’ve been here at least two previous times. It’s what I always think of as an American Italian style restaurant. Neatly set places with red tablecloths, partially lit by tall flickering candles in wine bottles as Frank Sinatra and other crooners play in the background. It’s a great atmosphere. We had a reservation and were shown straight to our table. There were three of us. Initial drinks were a beer and the house red wine - an Italian. Starters were two of the stuffed peppers, filled with rice and chorizo which were juicy and delicious and a prawn and salmon salad, which I was assured was equally so. Mains were a Rossini steak, a margarita pizza and the Apollo Italia Nostra - chicken breast stuffed with cheese and served with salad and a light masala sauce. This last item was a little dry but that is the nature of chicken breast and mitigated by the sauce anyway. The other two dishes were delicious. We rounded off the meal with two liqueur coffees. It was one of the best Irish coffees I had tasted in a long time, having tried several poor efforts in other venues lately. The service was excellent with the friendly staff being helpful and attentive. Price-wise, this is an expensive dining experience - at least for us - the bill amounting to Ā£188. We thought it was worth it as a special occasion and I will leave it to your own judgement whether this is dear or not. We will be coming back, no doubt for our next special occasion in Stirling. A recommended restaurant.

This is a popular Italian restaurant in Stirling city center. I would suggest making reservations ahead of time, especially on weekend and evenings. My husband and I didn’t have a reservation either time, but staff was able to locate a table for us which we appreciated! It has a variety of dishes and choices to choose from. We’ve been here several times, being the 22nd and the 30th of August 2024 the last two. We ordered different dishes both times, and we both liked what we had. One thing we have noticed is that there seems to be a staff shortage as the service has been a little bit slower than usual lately, but the staff in general is very polite, helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. These last two times we’ve been there we waited about 20 to 25 minutes for the meal which had not happened before. Food is always delicious and flavorful, a bit small dishes in some specific cases (Vitello al limone is an example of it) though. Prices are more on the higher end, but still reasonable for a meal that is delicious. You can swap the side dish of your meal upon request. Sadly, there is no choice of whole-wheat pasta for those of us that are under certain dietary restrictions which I would love to see change and I’m sure others would love it too. Overall, it’s a good place, nice environment, kind staff, convenient location, tasty dishes, reasonable prices, and the feel of having a piece of Italy in Stirling!

Was quite disappointed by this place.Never been here before, was walking by while on holiday and had a quick glance at the menu and the Calzone pizza caught dad's eye as it said it was the"Chefs speciality"then I noticed lots of Veal choices so thought we'd give it a go.The restaurant itself was rustic and charming and service was good. Then the food came came out.Dads Calzone was OK,but not memorable then my Veal came out,it was advertised as a milanese(I thought that came with pasta)Out came 3 of the smallest pieces of Veal, although well cooked, with a side salad and potato wedges and at £27,was hoping for a little bit more for my money.Dont get me wrong everything was tasty BUT overpriced.

Hands down the worst italian restaurant I've ever been to

So we book a table for 10 on a friday night, everywhere is fully booked locally so we look for the closest italian, this place comes up and we're happy although a little dubious as to why they can accommodate us

Anyway we arrive, I get a smile, of course I'm tall and white, the rest of the group a frown, there not happy with the looks of my party, I think prehaps "italians" in scotland don't like Chileans

We sit down, the waitress dumps all the menus in a pile at the end of the table so we hand them out ourselves, the kids drinks no straws, asked for, again dumped at the end of the table

It comes to ordering, never have you heard more no's in the history of the world, do you have ensalada tricolorie... no, and it goes on, can we swap the potatoes for more veg... no!

The meals arrive, in a party of 10 we order 5 steaks, 4 fillet and one sirlion, every single steak bar one was wrong, my nephews medium well ... arrived medium rare, dripping in blood, my brother in law no vinegar, the vinegar was there, my steak... on the menu they only have pepper corn source on the sirloin, I ask for the fillet medium with a pepper source, what do I get... a serlion with not an italian pepper corn source, no I get a sirloin well done with a cheese source with bits of peppercorn in...

The manager argued I mean literally argued with me that this steak (which was not only thinner than my wife's sirloin but chargrilled) was 100% serlion, he said and brought out another fillet saying "look! They come in these plastic packets!!!" What on earth does that prove, another steak is in a packet and so what! Anyone who knows anything about a steak can tell in seconds the difference between sirloin and fillet

In the interest of being fair here they took the steak off the bill and asked if I want anything else so a little reluctantly they did the bare minimum

We order for the kids one adult and two childrens portions of pasta, they arrive all adult size

My nieces pizza has a hair in it so leaves just under half, she stops eating as soon as she finds the hair of course

I swear to god with a hand on a bible on my sons head every single word of what I am saying is exactly what happened

Simply the worst not only italian restaurant but worst restaurant I have ever visited

I can't possibly emphasise how much I recommend that if your looking for a nice meal out you go anywhere...
