I've had fresh hand-pulled noodles all over Asia, but this was nothing like it. I ordered noodles with radish and spring onions and my friend ordered sliced beef noodles. In both cases, the broth and ingredients were okay. The noodle did not seem to be hand pulled or even fresh. It tasted fine, but wasn't very pleasant to eat as it was too thick, felt and looked like Ho Fun that had been put through a shredder and came out a misshapen shape.
The side orders weren't that great either. The seaweed was really bland and lacked the taste and crunchiness I expect from seaweed. Had I not garnished it with peanuts, I doubt it would've been edible.
The worst part of the meal was asking for Chinese tea. Literally given 2 cups, some tea leaf thrown in with hot water. Nothing to sieve the leaf out. Read moreAuthentic Chinese hand pull noodles! Came get a few times already cuz the noodles are just too good, you can see the chef makes his hand pull noodles in the back! The beef brisket noodles are always 10/10, I always adds an egg in there as well! The wonton noodle is my friends favourite, he loves the soup as well😄! Soup dumplings are great, the cold dishes salad is definitely a great starter. Besides, really good price for the portion. The service is lovely, very welcoming. Definitely recommend this gem to all noodles lover, will certainly come back to try more things! Edit: came back last week to try 冒菜(a variety of meet and veggies in a spicy broth), it was so good, very spicy and...
Read moreIf you want a real taste of China, look no further - this is the place to go! I lived in Shanghai for two years, and I hadn't had noodle soup and dumplings this authentic since I left... until today. Their chef makes all their noodles by hand right, on the spot, and they're to die for. The pork or beef dumplings are also made by hand on the spot, and from the first bite, you can taste their homemade-iness. Try their salads too, the seaweed one was delicious! The portions are quite big, and at about 8£ a soup, it's well worth the experience. The staff is very friendly, and while the place itself may be a bit small, its cozy feel gives it its charm. A must go-to place for all Chinese...
