Muffin Break — Restaurant in Scotland

We are concerned about the labelling of allergens on the menu (or staff understanding of allergens in ingredients).

When we visited your store today we were surprised to be informed that your milkshakes cannot be made vegan in spite of the menu clearly stating that they offer them as vegan options. We were lucky that in this case the member of staff working at the counter was aware of the ingredients otherwise we would have been very unwell thanks to a milk intolerance.

This is not the first occasion that we have had problems with the labelling of products in this store. In the past we have been informed by staff food items that are labelled as vegan in fact contain milk. There is either a problem with your labelling, or with...

Very dim place. Very messy tables with trays and crockery everywhere. Had to clean table myself.staff all standing about chatting. Staff using phones.felt pressure to order when I walked through the door. Young staff member trying to take order when am still standing in doorway. This was my first visit to a Muffin Break so wasn't sure what was available, i.e. just hot n cold drinks, cakes, pastries, or toasties, paninis, pancakes etc. The staff member was trying to take my order in the doorway while I was still using the NHS check in, and we immediately felt rushed - no time to properly look at the options. I could see a picture of pancakes and a traybake/cake display cabinet, so I asked what options were available for the pancakes and ordered some coffees which were ready to collect by the time I got to the till.
