Been a few times with a mixed bag of experiences. Had breakfast with family a couple of weeks ago and it was great. Went back with my husband for lunch a few days later. He ordered a salad I ordered a panini. When his salad was brought over the server asked if we are awaiting anything else. We said yes a panini and he said OK...walked away. 15 minutes later the panini arrived. We were sat infront of the till where the young staff stood chatting. I finally saw 1 male my panini in what can only be described as chaotic food prep area behind the counter. My husband noted lots of fruit flies buzzing around the salad etc in the chilled cabinet.
Today went in for breakfast and I was given a number stand for my food order. It was filthy. Caked in dirt. I ended up cleaning it with a wet wipe as I didn't want it on my table in that state. It really put me off as if they aren't cleaning them regularly who knows what else they aren't cleaning. These must be handled by lots of people daily. When my breakfast came it was great until the bacon which tasted as if it had come into contact with some brown sauce which I despise. Really don't think I will go back not atleast for a long time. Needs some proper management rather than students more interested in planning their social lives (one girl made my husband wait to order whilst she discussed plans with another...
Read moreYesterday afternoon my wife and I were looking for a nice cafe in Stirling, and decided to give Bob & Berts a try. We went in and had a look at the cakes and made our choices and then proceed to the ordering area next to the till. We stood and waited for at least 5 minutes for someone to take our order, there was no one else in the queue. While we waited there was a female barista one meter away on the over side of the counter happily chatting to a male friend of hers, she never looked at us once. Then there were two more female baristas at the coffee machine, again happily chatting away to each other while one made a coffee, again never looked over to us. Lastly there was a female barista stacking drinks cans into the fridge, who gave us a cheery wave goodbye as we left the premises with the £18 we would have spent on cake and coffee, and our vow never to return again. We went off to Costa Coffee, where even though they were busy, we were given very attentive service, and even apologies for the one minute delay. Many thanks Costa Coffee for the great...
Read moreHandy place to grab a brunch. Food is always good. Only issue I had was with it being a counter service and whilst there was a que only 1 person taking orders whilst 4 others stood and watched. I asked if I could place and order and was actually told by someone behind the counter that they weren’t working!? Anyways after a moment or 2 someone realised that it would be a good idea to use both tills and start serving me. Whilst ordering I was told I couldn’t swap out the fruit water on my child’s meal for just a normal water. I said fine I will just buy the water as she doesn’t like fruit juice and was then asked twice which fruit juice I wanted when I had already said I didn’t want any but they had to put something through the till system. Anyways not a major drama just one of those occasions where you wish someone had a bit of common sense. Food turned out great and I would recommend the breakfast as it was really good. The chicken strips are a favourite of my wife’s so can...
