Having studied Geography I was drawn to this place! Our party queued up outside on a Wednesday night at barely 6pm, it was so popular. Once in, the staff were very friendly and they were clearly extremely busy yet they all kept their heads.

Some of us had the calamari to start, which was crispy, fresh, and succulent. Presented well and nice and hot. Only comment from my partner was that it was a bit small! (perfectly sized for me).

The pino grigio was delicious too.

For the main, two of us shared the special, which was langoustines at £34. One enjoyed them and the other not so much, but to me they looked enormous and probably delicious.

The muscles, had by my partner, were really good and the Scottish beers he chose were very nice.

I chose pretty much the only veggie dish (I think maybe there were 2-3 choices actually) and was prepared for disappointment; however, the roasted peppers came brilliantly presented, with a beautiful dressing, clearly having made a huge effort to make a veggie dish just as delicious and appealing as the meaty and seafood options.

Dessert was banana sponge, understated on the menu frankly. Amazing sticky toffee pudding, essentially. Highly recommend!

This place could complacently serve up mediocre offerings to desperate hungry walking tourists, but does not get tempted to do this, it seems. Lots of effort put in to have high standards all round.

Overall a brilliant find, professionally executed, not unreasonably priced, high standard of food and lovely drinks.

Four adults, four starters, three mains including the special, four+ alcoholic drinks, three...

We were in Inverlochy for a night in march 2023 and Visited the town of Fort William about 5mins away from where we stayed. We were just walking in the town to find food and this place had a bit of queue , so waited around to get food here given the line and glad that we chose to wait for 20-30mins to get in.

It’s a small place which had a very cool vibe. We have ordered Mac&Cheese, The House Vegan Salad , Grilled Chicken Burger ( they were kind enough to make the grilled chicken patty rather than fried chicken which was on their menu at that time) & The Caramel Chocolate Torte.

The salad was very fresh, the grilled chicken sandwich was very well cooked and yummy, Oh MY God their Mac& Cheese was one of the best we have ever tried , it was so creamy and delicious. And the dessert was the perfect ending …. chocolate torte perfect balance of sweetness and sourness( again one of the best dessert i have ever tried in mg whole life). I still remember how this dessert tasted.

Only if i could Teleport my self to this place just to have mac & cheese and the Caramel Chocolate Dessert.

Definitely...

The atmosphere was nice and I appreciated the decorations. The staff were friendly as well. I came here as a solo traveler and ended up grouping up with another group of two and another solo traveler (by choice) as the restaurant was closing soon and there was a long line of people waiting to get in. It was an enjoyable environment to eat and chat with new people.

The calamari was good- the breading was nice and crisp and I was starving after hiking. The fries were also cooked perfectly; they were fresh and crispy.

I had asked for the burger to be cooked pink, but unfortunately it came out well done and I really didn’t like it (sorry!). The staff person was quite friendly and explained to me that meat has typically been cooked well done in Scotland and it’s been a difficult mental barrier for the cooks to make it pink. I understand that, I don’t think I could ever cook chicken to ‘medium rare’- yuck! I was a bit disappointed with the burger, but I wasn’t made to pay for it, so I think that was fair. I felt bad for the waste of...

We were up in Fort William for the weekend and heard great things about The Geographer from friends and bloggers online, so tried phoning ahead of time to book a table but unfortunately they are walk in only. We left it a little later on around 7:30pm but still had a slight cue outside which did pass quickly with people finishing there meals and leaving. It is such a lovely restaurant inside with a world theming, it is small & quirky but don't let this put you off. They have something for every taste and believe me it is all fantastic, served within no time at all and with some of the food being served in a basket, it really did peak on top! Staff are brilliant and really do go above and beyond to make your meal one to remember. Pricing is a little costly due to the tourist location but the quality of the food and portion size is second to none, highly recommend a visit if you're in the area!
