Tried this place out given all the hype and good reviews.
I eat out a lot and rarely have I had bad food but I can’t say I enjoyed my meal from here.
There’s nothing Chinese about this place, atmosphere is ok but given it’s a brand new shop you’d expect it to look the part. The service was good, the girl taking orders was well spoken and helpful and food came fairly quickly but that’s all the positives. I ordered a regular box and it was just not nice at all. Chips didn’t seem fresh and was drenched in sauce. The rice was also drenched in sauce and wasn’t much of it. I ordered Szechuan rice and couldn’t taste any of spices because of the sauce. The prawns and chicken were bartered but weren’t crispy anymore due to the sauce. I think because customers can pick two bases (rice and chips) and two toppings, they cram it all in a small box. Value wise it isn’t that cheap either for what you get.
My advice is to only offer one base and one topping.

After I tried the oodles in Newcastle, I was happy to see they opened in Glasgow so I visited the first week and by the creators faith, I was thoroughly disappointed.
The biggest disappointment was the "king spring roll" which they claim to be "8-inches." I know what 8- inches look like 🤦🏻♂️ This "king" roll was smaller than 6 inches , as you can see compared to a iPhone 14+ (5.78") . I shouldn't have expected 8-inches from a Asian place 😏 , it was bland too.
Not complaining but I try Asian spots hoping to find some spice and flavour , which was totally non existent in their noodles.
Was excited to try the schezwan rice which is a salty version of tomato rice. No schezwan flavor.
Overall this disappointment will never let me try oodles even when I'm stoned/high/ drunk.
Only nice customer service is appreciable. But long wait times will make you...
Read moreWent to oodles to try it as an alternative to chopstix. Short queue to order but service was abysmal. I noticed the time on my receipt was 1.17 but I didn't receive my take away noodles and manchurian chicken until 1.40pm. When I expressed dissatisfaction at the length of time and pointed out I would struggle to be able to eat it in the time left for lunch it was claimed to be fresh made which it patently wasn't as I watched them serve it from the bain marie. I also watched orders numbered after mine served before me. There are 4 people serving, one of whom only seems to make up lots of boxes in the middle of lunch service. I couldn't find any vegetables in my vegetable noodles. The manchurian chicken was nice, well, what I had of it as most went in the bin for me to get back to work. I'll be back at chopstix next week. ...
