Pepe's — Restaurant in Scotland

I recently visited Pepe’s in Coatbridge, and I must say it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. First of all, the environment is calm, clean, and welcoming — a peaceful place to enjoy a meal.

What stood out most was the attitude of the new management. They were incredibly polite and genuinely focused on building a great relationship with their customers, which left a lasting impression on me.

Now, onto the highlight — the food. Words truly can't do it justice. I’ve tried Pepe’s at various locations across England and Scotland, but the taste of the wings, chicken, and rice at this branch is simply on another level. Everything was cooked to perfection and packed with flavor.

Nice peri chicken take away, they have clearly spent the money refitting the craigdhu. Peri Chicken is quite a saturated market in Coatbridge, but the food is tasty, prices are on the high side, I went during the 50% off weekend. Restaurant is clean, service is friendly, order at till and they call your order, they have order screens downstairs for takeaway too. I had burrito, quesadilla, lamb burger, lots of flavour portion size on the meat was good, sides not so much. Dipping sauces where good, thick enough to be a sauce but thin enough that it would glaze tenders. Had I paid full price I would have been disappointed feel like the prices are on the high side particularly given the alternatives in the area. The unique selling point seems to be the halal certification. Will probably go again if the prices come down or if they have a money...

I’d like to kick off by saying the food was great - we had no complaints at all! However, the service we received was not up to par. As a group of friends we entered the restaurant and was immediately met with scowels from the server behind the counter (I didn’t happen to catch her name but her hair was red). We were told to ‘hurry up’ because she was ‘busy’ as we were trying to look at the menu to decide what to order. We then sat in to eat our dinner, to which we were told ‘yous need to leave in 10 minutes’ whilst we were still eating. I understand they closed shortly after and we had planned to be out of there by then. All in all, the food was great but the service was atrocious and we were met with attitude and scowels...
