Read moreThe Mrs and I arrived at 19:15 and placed an order of 4 tacos (fish, salmon, chicken and a carne) with a portion of chips. Due to volume of orders online and in person, we would be waiting until 20:20 (not a problem as these things happen) and they were turning people away due to running out of everything. Our issues began when a family of 4 who turned up half an hour after us, with an almost identical order were served before us. We decided it must just be our luck and didn't say anything. Perhaps we should have (foreshadowing).
When we finally got served our food, the person working the door read out out order as they said they didn't want to butcher our name (very weird as it's Lynch so not that difficult to pronounce?
Weird moment aside, we headed back to our car with our food, a 3 minute walk around the block. When we began eating our food, we found that the tacos were cold, wet, falling apart and inedible without a fork. This is despite me asking them about what kind of shells the tacos are made of (they told me 2 soft shells and cooked on the outside to harden somewhat). The haddock portion was half of the size we saw in reviews, there was too much veg to meat ratio. The chips were good, but we'd be cheaper picking up a taco bell and we'd be able to actually pick up our tacos as god intended.
It's a real shame as the actual food was really tasty but overshadowed by the soggy wet tacos which couldn't be eaten as intended. Luckily we had an unused fork in the car from a recent Costa trip.

We paid £16.96 which included either starter & main or the three birria tacos. We got the chicharron & guac, three chicken tacos and the birria. If you ordered the birria you couldn’t get a starter or dessert which was okay with us, even though it was steep for what it was.
Opted to share the starter, having had chicharron in a few different places across the globe I was letdown when I was served what looked like pork scratchings out of a packet. The guac was really nice however.
The main issues came with the tacos, the chicken tacos came on two tortillas each, these weren’t heated up or toasted in the slightest (see picture) and overall were really tasteless. I had high hopes for the birria tacos after hearing that Rafas done the best ones. Unfortunately I wasn’t impressed and have had better elsewhere, the sauce that accompanied them was pretty tasteless.
Lastly we happened to have a view into the kitchen area where they prepped the food we managed to witness the chef eating food with his hands wearing his blue gloves that he then prepped the diners food wearing. Not sure that’s very hygienic, the cutter oh we got served was rusty and...
