Shown to table really fast, good welcoming, told to use the website to order - extremely faffy when you've got a 7 month old. Tried using it three times and if you pressed back at the wrong stage you lost the full order. Gave up and asked to just place order with a person - understand why trying to get people to use the website for keeping staff time for cleaning tables etc but took 10 minutes to fail using the site due to some bad design when ordering a lot and holding a child at the same time..
Being able to pay at the end with your phone - great, having to place your order - should be optional instead of forced until they see you having issues with it.
Order placed, food out rapidly and REALLY good. But also really expensive, £50 for two people with two pancakes, two drinks and two sides (sides were just tater tots)
Sat for ages waiting for anyone to clear table and get the bill cause it wasn't already paid for via the website, asked for left overs to be boxed and was just given a box. Not 'really' an issue but service first restaurants and chains do it for you otherwise it comes across they don't care much.
Shame cause we really liked the food, just seemed really expensive for what it was and was really lacking on the service front. Heard 3 members of staff moaning about other customers and other members of staff.
Would come back for food, but now wouldn't due to service we experienced. Had friends who said service was good so maybe we just had an off day...
Read moreFirst and last experience today. Kids menu is free (one pancake and 1 topping) for a paying adult, which is great. HOWEVER !! My son has ordered pancake with bacon and cheese, pancake so dry he couldn't cut through it, so asked me to do it and I've struggled too! Bacon was dry, cheese was very poor quality, not melted, cold and smellling pretty strong. Waiter has asked if everything was ok, so we explained that everything on kids menu was dry and not edible. As an answer we got "yes but it's cheese" with a unsaid but noticeable"what do you expect?". We've then ordered an "adult" pancake for our son. Adults ordered the "signature" stack which are 3 pancakes stacked topped with spicy chicken / beef brisket. My chicken was dry, brisket was far from exceptional. Pancakes are too thick and dryish, you could choke on them. Topping is far from enough for 3 pancakes, had to really "spare" topping to be able to eat 2 of the pancakes with something on them. 3rd one stayed in the plate as we didn't really fancy a plain pancake. If you're planning on giving up pancakes for life, feel free to try it, it...

Quite a few items were out of stock. Sadly the staff didn't tell us before we started to order so we were left disappointed by the experience.
Then because I had to choose another item from the menu I asked to substitute the toffee crisp for blueberries on the toffee apple stack and was told I had to pay extra. I was not impressed by this so asked a manager if they would do it for free as good will, she agreed.
They didn't have the apple juice for kids but offered the Cawston Press apple and Berry instead which was nice.
We also sent back the chocolate milkshake which was really awful and tasteless.
The meals of pancakes were nice and tasted good.
The kids pancake with raspberries and strawberries was nice but there was perhaps only about 1.5 strawberries on the plate (see photo).
I'd...
