Decent sushi in a place you might not be expecting any sushi at all. I'll not lie, it wasn't the best sushi in the world. There certainly wasn't anything wrong with it, but as sushi goes it was OK. Granted we had this as takeaway instead of eating at the restaurant, potentially that might have made the hot dishes better. But overall, nothing you couldn't put together at home with supermarket ingredients and for considerably cheaper too. Salmon sashimi, 6/10: it was reasonably fresh, but nothing special, and found a few bones that hadn't been prepped completely. The 'side salad' of just a tomato slice seemed completely at odds with the dish. Sushi mixed platter, 6/10: again, reasonably fresh but fairly basic. Miso soup, 5/10: very basic, not a great deal of flavour. Salt and pepper chicken wings, 8/10: These were actually quite nice, good crunch even after steaming up a take away box. Would order these again. Eel on rice, 7/10: Eel was tender, sauce was sweet and savoury and overall prepared well. The staff were friendly and helpful when I came in to order, and the food was prepared pretty quickly. Special mention to say they very kindly gave me chopsticks for free after I realised too late they needed to be added to the bill (50p per pair FYI) and they have a £6 card minimum so I was a bit stuck otherwise.

Have eaten in here a number of times and especially like the fresh sushi and also sizzling satay dishes. The food is always of high quality Always friendly, attentive and helpful service if you need any questions answeres about the menu. If you are in early it can be a bit cold but apart from that, it's nice to go with friends or they have a little bench facing out the window I'd enjoy going myself and watching the world go by. There is a great value set lunch deal. Some low volume music would make a welcome addition to the atmosphere in here, I feel.

Love sumo, been coming here for years and recently decided to get a takeaway, I got the sushi platter and katsu curry (classic), great portions and had loads of left over curry to enjoy the next day 🤣✨ Sushi is always fresh made and delicious and I love that they do takeaway option (you must collect, no delivery). Can be quite quiet in the restaurant sometimes which makes you feel like you also have to talk really quietly as it's a small room but wouldn't put me off going as the food is amazing. Staff are so friendly and attentive. 🍣 🍙

Our usual sushi restaurant was closed due to a technical issue so we thought we would give Sumo a try. On entering the restaurant I asked for a table for 2, only to be met with a very uninterested waitress who drew a look. Was shown to the table then handed menus, well they were actually just put on the table and she walked away. Watched other people coming in and all of them were either initially ignored or met with the same look. When our order was delivered I asked what type of sauce we were given as I could only easily recognise the sweet chilli.........the response " I don't know" and walked away. Whilst the starter was very tasty I couldn't say the same for the sushi boat, totally bland and tasteless. What's more you had to take what the chef decided, no choice given unless you wanted to pay more and for what we were given I'm glad I didn't pay more. I ended up having to order extra drinks as very dry from the amount of soy we had to use to get a taste of something. Also taken aback by what sushi we were served, 8 just with cucumber/rice, sweetcorn/ rice and two totally unrecognisable ones. I've eaten better sushi from Aldi and that leaves a lot to be desired!!I wouldn't recommend this restaurant at all, definitely...

We ordered ramen but that is not what they served us. If you are looking for a nice Raman this is not the place for it. The ramen was the most tasteless pork broth I have even has and the noodles were instant noodles that were not nice at all. My wife and I left the dish and went elsewhere to eat.

The price would have been fine if it was an actual pork broth and was tasty but it's very over priced for the poor excuse of a range they served.

The starters were nice, whole prawns in the shell were tasty and the pork served inside the ramen was very nice, (well some parts) there were a few very dry pork boys but the pieces that were fresher were very tasty.

There is disabled access into the restaurant and the toilet is on the ground floor. There is on street parking but it has restrictions however there is a car park right across the road.

In conclusion they have nice starters and perhaps other Nivea dishes but they should not be serving ramen. Just take it...
