The Kettledrum — Restaurant in Scotland

I popped in here to ask about vegan options after pretty much everywhere else we had tried (Musiker was closed) had nothing for us, and I'm super glad that I did! The staff could not have been more helpful, knowledgable about their products, or more accommodating. The Mediterranean tartlet was incredible, the vegan panini was delish and the soup was scummy! They even found us a vegan dessert of sticky toffee pudding 😋 I'm so grateful to Espenlade for suggesting we tried there! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a vegan option with lovely attentive staff (they even thought to cut our tartlet up for us as we were taking away, couldn't have been any kinder)....

Popped in at midday on a Wednesday for an early lunch and had the steak melt. Absolutely delicious slices of peppered steak with fried onions and mushrooms and a little Monterrey Jack cheese, served in a warm panini, with a basket of lovely chunky fries on the side. Hands down the best steak sandwich / panini that I've had. The steak is cooked with plenty of peppercorns and the meat was tender and plentiful. No small portions here! Having gone across to Rothesay for our first 'big' day out in months we came across this cafe/restaurant which was one of the few places open for lunch. The menu was varied and we both chose to have filled ciabatta served with a side salad and coleslaw. I had the vegetarian option and it was delicious. The friendly and helpful staff were meticulous regarding Covid 19 regulations, and although most tables were occupied we felt pretty safe inside the tearoom.
