Pathetic food, poor service. Save yourself the money and the bad experience and just walk through the gardens which are lovely and then go to a nice cafe in Glasgow. "Please wait to be seated" sign should be taken away. If you wait you'll be there for hours. Waitresses walked by several times, avoiding eye contact. Had to get a table ourselves and then get one of the waitresses to come. The "smoothie" was from a Tropicana banana/strawberry smoothie juice tub. I know because I drink it all the time. Except a single small glass is priced at the same price the tub would be. The fruit scone is tiny and hard and comes with cheap packet jam. Took forever to get our bill and we asked three times.

Came here with a friend for a late lunch and we stayed all afternoon, the place was lovely and immersed in nature. Relaxing atmosphere, the staff was kind and the afternoon tea was very well presented and high quality. Good choices of sandwich fillings and bread, also for vegetarian and vegan - and good coffee! Definitely recommend for a self-care day away from the noise of the city

It's terribly disappointing when ordinary people are priced out of a simple sandwich at a well loved institution. I went here while visiting the Botanics with my young adult children. We were seated in the delightful outdoor area and did not have to wait. We ordered sandwiches and coffee. The sandwiches were nearly £6.95! I expected something quite impressive, however, they were woefully small and my daughter had to send hers back as it was overfilled with too much sweet caramelised onion. The woman serving was so lovely about it and replace it right away. The setting is indeed a treat, however, no cafe can justify nearly £7 for two wee bits of bread and a wee bit salad on the side. Perhaps their should be a cost warning at the gates of the West End in general? If you can't afford a house here, you probably can't afford to eat here. Shame on you...

Cannot comment on food as could not manage to get served. Turned up was seated quickly then ignored for over 10 mins as staff walked by us and cleaned tables around us. Final straw was when an older couple came in, I was with my teenage son, and they walked past us again to clean a table for them, walked past us again to collect them apologised to them for delay, seated them then another staff member appeared to immediately take their order. Lady who appeared to be manager who seated us also kept looking at us but failed to direct anyone to take order. When we got up and left no attempt to speak to us or apologise for the long delay and offer to...
