Avesso, Vinho Verde, Portugal, 'Leme Avesso' '21
New. There are vinho verde and then there is this little number, new to us and i know it's going to be popular especially amongst our regular young crowd of vv fans, first outing by the glass and the bottles have already flown crisp refreshing oozing citrus and stone fruits. Ideal for the warmer weather. Definite crowd pleaser. Vinho verde - green wine, new & young, hint of fizz.
Bombino, Pagadebit, Italy, Emilia-Romagna, Poderi Dal Nespoli
It's back after 8 months of no availability. We have secured a decent amount this time. Medium everything...tree fruit, citrus, mineral it's got it all! Excellent with the platters, equally nice on its own, fresh glass of wine. One for you pinot grigio/gris fans a better alternative!
Sauvignon Blanc/Semillion/Sauvignon Gris/ Bordeaux, France, Ch. La La Grande Métairie
Based around that traditional sauvignon/semillion bordeaux blend, crisp with a hint of acidity a very elegant wine, this is the first opportunity to provide by the glass with enough stock in. Excellent with hard & blue cheese.
Viognier, France, Ventoux/Se Rhone, Château Pesquie, Le Paradou '22
Peaches & pears spring to mind with plenty of mineral taste, medium, soft. A perfect match with the dry cured meats and the cheddar. Always a popular choice medium/heavy.
Viura/Tempranillo Blanco, Rioja, Javier San Pedro Ortega, 'Las Levantadas' '22
Very much a modern white rioja... With a move away from age statement wines, this wine is lovely, peachy and floral notes, with flinty, citrus tastes. We know you're going to love it! We picked it last year and this is it's second time out by the glass this year.

A Cozy Gem in Inverness We spent the last night of our short stay in Inverness at The Walrus & the Corkscrew, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. From the moment we stepped inside, we felt instantly cozy and welcomed. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring. What truly made our evening special was sharing a couple of glasses of red wine with great company. The wine selection was lovely, and each sip added to the relaxed, intimate vibe of the place. The staff were friendly and attentive, enhancing the overall charm of the evening. If you’re looking for a welcoming, comfortable spot in Inverness to enjoy good drinks and a relaxed ambiance, The Walrus & the Corkscrew is definitely the place to be. We left feeling refreshed, happy, and already looking forward to...

Wine and cheese so nice, I went twice. They have a great wine list (and other drinks) and a good selection for flights. Even if you know nothing about wine like me, they well help you find something you like. Their bread and cheese are also great. They have some other food items that looked good (scotch egg and smoked countryside platter) but they didn't have any when I went, so be sure to keep in mind that some of their items run out, and that they don't always have room for walk-ins; it is a smaller place. The one downside is that if you're off in a corner table, you do seem to be forgotten a bit. There were times when I wanted to order another glass of wine, but no one was around for like, 20...

On the evening of my last night in Inverness, I chose The Walrus & Corkscrew. I sat outside with my back against the wall. There were tables on my right and left. The waiter placed the menu on the table, I was in no rush so I waited a moment. A seagull chose to target me with Good Luck. I heard and saw a splatter on the menu but it was clear in color. Feeling uncomfortable, I reached for the side of my pants with my left hand to find seagull Good Luck . The girl sitting nearby gave me napkins and the waiter guided me to the restroom to freshen up. I sat indoors to enjoy the cheese platter with Scotch. My return flight to Philadelphia was smooth, no delays, no...
