Dined at Zucca on the evening 6th August for my sister's birthday.
We were left waiting nearly 20 minutes for a table we had been pre-booked whilst they cleared the diners already occupying the table (ie, they were over booking tables).
From the moment we sat at the table, we had been left waiting for excessively long periods (at least 30-40 minutes) between meals. The young waitress who served us that night was extremely ill-mannered (rolling eyes, snapping when she spoke and muttering under her breath) and kept slamming drinks and plates on the table (on more than one occasion spilling drink and sauce on some of our guests).
The food was OK, not great, and overpriced; our table of 5 was charged over £220 for the night.
When we left, the manager made a sarcastic comment towards my father after he complained about the poor service and then then had the cheek to say please come back again!
If this is the level of service that is to be expected, I would not recommend and will not be visiting again!

Read moreHorrendous experience. Our party had eaten from the over priced and average tasting a la carte and pre theatre menus at which point we ordered a round of drinks, before we got the drinks we were told we had to leave immediately as the table was booked for another dinner party. At no point in the night had we been given notice of a time to leave. If they had told us before we ate or even told us 30 minutes before we had to leave we would have understood. The manager had a poor attitude and was argumentative. He did not seem to care that my young children would have to wait in the cold and rain for a taxi. I have never experienced treatment like this before. They even tried to charge us for the drinks we ordered but never received!! This restaurant has all the values of a second rate fast food outlet. Will not be back and would not recommended to anyone. Get yourself a jar of dolmio and some pasta from the supermarket it will...
Read moreZucca in the Village? What a place. We had never been until we received a gift voucher as a present from our Daughter, who is a regular visitor, she loves the half pizza/half pasta deals. We attended for lunch and the service was quick and very attentive. We were seated quickly and served our food in a timely fashion. The food was exquisitely presented and was very very good. The restaurant was fairly busy for a weekday afternoon, we were fairly surprised at just how busy it was. In our experience, that is a good sign. It means the food and service are good, and we were not disappointed. As for the prices, well, our voucher for £20 just about covered the bill. We had a starter and a main followed by coffee. Excellent value for money. We will be back! No pics, sorry, it was too busy to be photographing...
