I visited Cambridge Road Cafe & Bar with three cycling friends on our ride to Southport from the Wgan area. The cafe has changed ownership since my last visit, which was quite a few years ago. Very friendly and quick service. All four of us commented on how good our food and drinks were and at a great price. My vegetarian sausage on toast with a large americano came to £7.50. One of my friends said his sausage sandwich was probably the best he has ever had, and mine is up there with the best as well. There is plenty of seating inside and two large wooden bench tables outside. Perfect for cyclists. Shame the cafe has lost the outside bike stand that the previous owners had. I had reason to use the male toilet, and it was very clean and tidy. This will be our cycling stop when we visit...

Food was great and - this is very rare as it’s hard to do- ALL ingredients were piping hot ! Good quality food well cooked as requested. Coffee for a decaf was very good too. Two very busy staff were very nice, smiling and welcoming. HIGHLY RECOMMEND and will go again...
