First ever visit/ try with the Harvesters. First impression was the ICE COLD room! It was about 19 Celsius outdoor but the air conditioning was on full blast! Second impression was the mess. Food, napkins under the tables, sticky seats and the table we have been seated. We wanted to be seated elsewhere, because by the toilet every second someone took a kid to the toilet, bagging their shoes on my shoulder as they walked by and carried them. We have chosen a table but the staff re-seated us somewhere else (even though the restaurant was not full). Price tag of the meals are close to the high. We didn’t order any drinks, that was again, confusion for the staff, they asked a few times if we really don’t want anything to drink 🙂 2 full rack of BBQ pork ribs, chips, rainbow (?!) coleslaw salad and maybe sweetcorn squares were on the table. The food included the unlimited self service salad bar - it was a very basic bar and all the salads were mass production, from a store… Food! Rib was plenty. Unfortunately DRY! They saved a lot of BBQ sauce on our meal… we asked for extra sauce but never arrived. The rainbow coleslaw was plain, dry (only a dot of very cheap mayo on it). The sweet corn squares were cold likewise the chips - well not surprised as the temperature in the restaurant was ice cold, too. Food deserves a 3⭐️ as it wasn’t outstanding at all, rather boring. Service deserves 2 ⭐️ as they were not bothered at all with the guests much. Average. Come, eat and go if possible… Atmosphere 2 ⭐️. It was COLD. And the staff did not cleaned the place much. 3 ⭐️ altogether not bad for a chain. It was my first and last visit there. If you never tried, give them a go 🤷🏻‍♂️

Unfortunately i have come to the point where i have to write this review. I don’t usually do reviews but I couldn’t not do one. Firstly would like to point out the good bits. The waitress was nice and understanding, the food tasted slightly above average. Now the negatives. Medium steak was served rare. Medium rare steak was served rare. Took a long time to originally place our order. Then when i was telling our waitress what we wasn’t happy about. Another member of staff came over to the table and tried to tell me i was wrong and attempted to justify why things was the way they was. Apparently the harvester are the only place to offer an “Onion ring nest” because when i asked why was the onion rings all stuck together and presented horrendously, she said it was an onion ring nest and thats how it should look. Now google has never heard of such a dish and neither has anyone i know. Either way, wether it was intentional or not. It looked awful, it was not what was advertised and im just shocked as it was only yesterday i was saying my favourite restaurant was Harvester. I don’t think i will be going again, unless i have £65 to burn. But i would like to say thank you to the young waitress who listened to us and offered to amend the meal. And to the more senior member of staff who knew that we wasn’t happy and didn’t approach us. It showed how little you cared about your job.

We came here 8 years ago and left a 1 star review so we thought we would give it another go as it was Easter Bank Holiday Monday and all other restaurants was booked up in the hope it might have improved, sadly I was wrong, it has gotten worse, no wonder the place was empty. To start with, booking a table the telephone system and online booking system where both not working. On arrival the was a delay getting a table from the staff even asked us had we booked, the restaurant only had a handful people and was very empty considering it was a Bank holiday. The waitress took our drinks and food order and brought us the salad bowls however there was hardly any salad items available. I ordered the Wave combo then was told there was no rotisserie chicken so had to exchange it for chicken breast in breadcrumbs. The beef medium rare was tough. The coleslaw that came with my meal looked anything but fresh so needless to say it didn't get touched. My wife ordered Salmon with jacket potato the salmon we was told was fresh, it definitely was not as it smelled off. We sent that back and didn't have the meal replaced. My daughter had chicken crunchy fries from the kids menu. She had no complaints about this. This place is definitely on my list of Restaurants to avoid. Next time if we can't get a table at a decent restaurant we'll eat at home rather than come here.

Okay so read this we where a party of 10 with 6 adults and 4 kids so we attended to celebrate a joint bday betweek one of the kids and one of the adults well

What can I say the venue itself is OK I guess it was clean and tidy however after the first 30 minutes sat in our coats they finally turned the air con off keeping in mind it's the end of September here and already cold and wet out spending 30 minutes bundled up shivering in doors what are we under a tory government and trying to save on heating bills ???

So 45 minutes in we where told our plates for our starter salad would arrive in 5 minutes around 20 minutes after this they arrived we had been sat around an hour by this point and had ordered our food kids meals and mains all together to arrive at the same time

1.5 hours down finished a salad filled up on bread and tired of waiting we continued to accept the waitresses constant "it will only be 5 more minutes"

1.45 hours down the kids meals arrived FINALLY we thought as the plates arrived a starter for myself and the odd one for the table my hummus was nice except for the chili's all over it as garnish not a fan of raw sliced chilli's (this comes in later) garlic bread was nice but very oily and then we finished those and back to waiting keeping in mind we ordered everything together

So some of the guests food arrived (3 of there meains) 2 hours down and everyone else's arrived looked amazing the ribs glazed and glistened the pork belly looked devine the steak very juicy (till you went to eat that) so ribs no issues pork belly for myself again delicious except I couldn't taste it because of the mega garnish of chilli's mixed with the veg it came with the loaded fries ...chilli's......the corn bread .....chilli's.......like seriously do they have some kind of shares in chilli's or something ........it was getting silly .......the staff where fabulous they looked after us and assured us alot that it's not normal .....namely helen who came to us and really looked after us towards the end she took care of our issues and we did leave somewhat happy after a 2.45 hour visit that well.......we thought might be an hour tops but I guess our mistake

Overall od say if your going for a quick bite with family I'd prob leave this one out and go the...

My first time at a harvester. Let me be clear, I came in expecting a 3 star service from family. A family that would normally visit a place like this...

20 minutes past our reservation...

0 star for MANY ISSUES. My wife got the wrong drink, my daughter got the wrong drink and I got an alchohol free beer to find out they charge £5.50 per CAN of beer. £6.50 per bottle. 5 star prices for a 1 star joint. Nah...

I know, this night most tables were slammed but they walked up and said it would be 45 minutes for food. We already waited 30 to sit down and get a drink so we opted to stay.

I really dont want to borry you with exact details but my family got their fried food just fine, my steak was ordered med, i dont know how but they got it but 1/3 of one side was well done. The rest was kissed by a flame so as you could guess. It was very chewey. At this time we had been there for 2 hours. After visisting the salad bar that was torn to aids and back.

The only saving grace was even though our orders were wrong every single time, the server was very nice (even if she hated us, thank you. You are only a middle person and get the most bs from customers).

As i say that, she forgot many of our orders which led to this debacle.

It will be many years before I even consider another visit to any "harvester". To a common tongue im sure bland, microwaved, """fresh""" from frozen asda ready meals will suit the populace but for me. Mcdonalds provides more care even if its the worst food in the world. ( yes worse than the worse ) for those who cannot...
