KFC Southport - Eastbank Street — Restaurant in Sefton

Yesterday evening I popped my cherry. As a 39 year old that was a very significant step for me.

Yep, I am no longer a KFC virgin and I'm pleased that it was given to the Southport branch. The girl on the counter serving was obviously well briefed as when I added chips to my order (which at that point consisted of your vegan burger and tea) she immediately warned me that they can't be guaranteed to be vegan due to the cooking method used. I could have said that doesn't matter as I already appreciate that when I get my chips from the chippie, they have been cooked in the same oil as fish and sausage. It did however give the the opportunity to try something else on this brand new menu to be so I opted for corn on the cob. Generally I'm not usually a huge fan of quorn fillets as I tend to find them a bit dry to my taste but this fillet was moist and broke apart well in my mouth. The seasoning was well spiced and the outlet although busy had a very calm feeling to it. The corn on the cob was new to me in a fast food restaurant context but was very tasty. As I walked in to KFC I was greeted with the smell of rotten eggs I proceeded to order my box meal on the kiosk. The kiosk was grimy greasy and dirty it looked like it had not been cleaned for weeks. After that I had to excuse my self into the restroom to wash my hands after all the grime from the kiosk. The bathroom was filled with soggy toilet paper splattered all across the toilet seat and the walls, luckily I didn’t need to excrete in the toilet because I had gone prior. I found a booth next to the gigantic window and proceeded to wait 40 minutes for my meal which is just inexcusable. Whilst I ate my frozen , revolting chicken a bunch of hooligans started fighting right in front of me this made me feel very unsafe luckily they ended up taking it outside. We ordered our food at 1:42pm today and requested table service. We were not really impressed with the cleanliness of the place, and every empty table needed to be cleared by the customer before they could use it. I went up after 15 minutes to enquire about my order and was told by a team member that the order hadn't been actioned. Frustrating for me but errors do happen. It was another 10 minutes until I asked another team member about where my food was, (one meal, and a side and 3 drinks), it turns out that it still had not been actioned by the staff member who didn't appear busy.
