I have visited McDonald's Switch Island for over 10 years and the service has always been a little up and down, but never to the point where I felt frustrated enough to leave a bad review. Today however I got to the final window to collect my families breakfast, after spending £15+ and asked if I could have am extra Syrup for the pancakes. This is something I have asked for several times over the years and have always been given one along with other sauces etc. Today however I was service by an older, slightly larger lady who told me that I had to pay 20p. I had already paid at the previous window and so I offered to pay again. I was told they cannot take card payments, only cash. So I checked my car and found a £1 coin. I then handed it to the lady or refused and said it had to be exactly 20p. Standing directly behind her are 2-3 members of staff serving customers inside and they have 4 tills. I said could she not get me change? She rudely refused and I got the feeling she was being more awkward than needed for some reason. So I'm sat, food going cold trying to just get a small syrup and offering to pay but being told I needed to exactl change and I couldn't pay using my card or phone (in 2022). So, eventually in frustration I had to drive back out and into the drivethrough queue and wait to get back to the first window, where I asked to pay for a syrup for 20p. The man at the window seemed confused, until I explained and he then he rolled his eyes and apologized to me. Finally I got back to the window to collect my syrup and after taking it was told by this lady to "move on" which really was unnecessary. But seeing the way she dealt with me and treated me, wasn't suprising. I understand that food orders can be wrong and mistakes happen, I've had many, many incorrect orders at Switch Island McDonald's and problems, but we are all human and make mistakes. However, I think someone needs to speak with this woman, as a McDonald's representative. She was very rude and made the experience unpleasant and overly...
Read moreIt's not the food, it's the service that's lets this franchise down.
We wouldn't normal entertain a McDonald's restaurant most of them hold a standard that is nation wide.
For a tycoon business there will be mistakes as most restaurants generate profits only independent businesses could dream of.

Food Review: QUALITY: Regards where you are in the UK the food hit a standard time & time again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
VALUE: Thought prices have risen in later year you still get the same as yesterday. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
TASTE: Nothing special but it's a required taste on tap ⭐️⭐️⭐️
CONSISTENCY: Always the same no matter where you are give or take mistakes here & there. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
For this we're looking at some of the services the franchise offers from the drive-thru to the counter.
SERVICE: Switch Island has is moments, we've had what you expect at the counters, however here like its counter-part Aintree restaurant fails on a regular basis to fulfil the correct order taken & given. ⭐️⭐️
WAIT TiME: This can depend on the time of day your average wait time even when not busy is between 8-12+ minutes with drive-thru being far quicker sometimes than walking in & ordering in person ⭐️⭐️⭐️
STAFF: To Date we've only had 1 members of staff at this drive-thru worthy of a 5 Star 🌟 solo performance, however its the in-house counter staff that are fail the mcdonalds brand reputation, many including management are disinterested with a number of staff avoiding customer eye contact or service & little to no exchange of communication or proper hospitality. ⭐️
HYGIENE: This restaurant has a standard we've seen maintained however tables clean up & clean as you go seem alittle laboured at times with bins filled beyond capacity. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Read moreI'd rather give it NO STARS!!!!!!!! Went through drive through at 00.45. WASTED £9.38 on 2 big Mac meals. Went around the corner and chips and big mac burgers were STONE COLD. Immediately rang them to complain but no answer. And they didn't give us a receipt either. They probably knew we'd complain. AVOID 😡😡😡 Just to update you, we put one big Mac in the micro together with the stone cold chips, but they were like cardboard once reheated so they went into the bin. I eventually got an answer on the phone but their lackadaisical attitude wound me up even further. I was told they'd put my name into the book and to "come in tomorrow and we'll give you fresh ones" I took the other untouched one, with the chips and the disgusting hot chocolate (which tasted like brown water) back the following day. Obviously daytime staff but very apologetic. It appeared my name hadn't been recorded as I had to repeat my complaint a few times before the shift manager stepped in and I was offered replacements which I declined, so received a full refund. Once again he couldn't apologise enough. I was always under the impression that once cooked food has been sitting in the trays for a certain amount of time, it has to be thrown away. However the night shift probably think if people are coming through the drive through in the early hours of the morning, they're probably too drunk to notice and wouldn't come back to complain, whereas if sitting inside, they would. Well I most certainly was completely sober, and when I order and pay a lot of money for cooked food, I expect it to be HOT and not a though it's been stored in a fridge! Think this very young night time staff...
