This McDonald's used to be the best of all and I thought it was because it was a corporate restaurant. Now it's gone downhill fast and even has higher prices than some of the franchise McDonald's on things like teas and coffees etc. The two corporate restaurants in Southport used to be the worst or especially the ocean plaza McDonald's but surprisingly they are both improving. I have been in both Southport restaurants several times with a completed hot drinks loyalty voucher and asked for tea and each time they ask would I like a large tea and of course I said yes. I usually buy the large tea anyway but the coffee bean loyalty voucher entitles you to a small or regular hot drink. So I buy six large teas and expect to get a free regular tea in return. Now it's no big deal but it is nice to be offered a large tea as a loyalty hot drink and it just shows that corporate restaurants can do it and even have a large tea loyalty plu key on their cash register which comes up as large tea 1p the 1p supposedly to suggest it's free as probably each item needs a price and the 1p is then deducted automatically at the end. But try asking for a large tea with a loyalty card at the Aintree McDonald's and your told no and your frowned upon and at best offered to upgrade to a large tea for 40p. The thing is Aintree McDonald's put their prices up so a small tea was 99p it went up to £1.09 and a large tea was £1.09 and it went up to £1.19. But it's still the old prices everywhere else except an odd franchise here and there and it's the old prices at the two Southport corporate restaurants. How does the Aintree McDonald's justify charging a customer 40p for an upgrade from a small tea to a large one when there is only a 10p difference in price???? There is one other McDonald's that won't give you a large tea with a loyalty card and that's the one on queens drive who ask for an extra 20p for an upgrade despite like I say there being a 10p price difference between small and large. I wouldn't mind but there's no more tea in the large cup it's still only 1 PG Tips tea bag in the cup but you get a little extra hot water. Just don't see how plenty of corporate and some franchise McDonald's will even offer it to you but then this Aintree McDonald's and queens drive Don't! and if you ask if you can have a large tea instead the answers no and you would have to pay upto four times!!! The price difference. Not great customer service or customer satisfaction quibbling over 10ps worth of hot water and a slightly larger cup. It's common sense as I avoid this McDonald's now and go to the dunnings bridge road site (switch retail...

My recent visit to this establishment served as a disappointing reminder of the neglect evident in its maintenance. Despite voicing concerns in a previous review, little has changed, if not deteriorated.
Upon entering, it was evident that cleanliness was not a priority. Tables, chairs, and floors bore the marks of neglect, showcasing a lack of attention from the staff. Despite the abundance of seating, unused tables were cluttered with waste and leftover food, further highlighting the disregard for hygiene.
Returning years later, I had hoped for improvement, but instead, I was met with a worsened state of affairs. The restaurant was in dire need of a thorough cleaning, with no signs of initiative from the cleaning staff or management. Instead of addressing the obvious cleanliness issues, they seemed preoccupied with soliciting customer feedback, offering incentives for positive responses.
The condition of the toilets was appalling, raising serious concerns about the overall sanitation of the establishment. One can only imagine the state of the kitchen given the neglect evident in the dining area.
In conclusion, this establishment continues to disappoint with its disregard for cleanliness and hygiene standards. Until significant improvements are made, I cannot recommend it to others. It's a shame that such potential is overshadowed by neglect and...
Read moreThis place is a joke. When there at 6pm, drive through, but it had broke and had to wait for 10 minutes for them to tell us our order was cancled. Nearly missed our film my aging father has been dieing to see for 45 years! Then after the film we went to give it another go, clinging on to hope (second mistake of the night). My aging father was asked to park up. EIGHT Elvis Presley tracks later, no sign of our food!! But FIVE cars that had arrived after up had been served. Me and my partner went to the drive through service window for assistance and were promptly SHUNNED therefore we waited agitated, increasingly immaciated. While we waited in desperate hope our food ever seeing the light of day, we witnessed a man bust his nut in the car park after storming into the vicinity after recieving a sub-par meal, shouting profanities I dearest type here. Finally, after my aging father let out a last, desperate cry to the rather strapping male employee, we're we given our food. Three and a half hours after our initial order, we were presented with tepid food, the wrong flavour milkshake, a lack of fries and a lingering taste of grease and disappointment. HOW GARD...
