It's Saturday 13th of November I just went into this chipshoo for a large battered sausage, the man was busy on his phone behind the counter, didn't seem very interested in anything, so I paid him the £2.50 he asked for 30seconds later he called out my ticket number 15, and said the sauces are up there if you want any, a lad about 14 behind the counter looked at me and said wow massive order, so I opened the box to find a sorry looking sausage laying in a large fish and chip box instead of the battered one I had asked for, I thought I will say nothing because they both look like they would rather be sitting at home and may get stroppy and that wouldn't end well, I have ran chippys in my time and u would never use sausages from the day before, and that was definitely the case here, it is a lovely place, but the two that served me lacked in people skills, So if the man that served me owns it, what a shame, I will not be back in. THE BAYSIDE fish...

Probably would say worst fish and chips I tasted , thought it was a good place due to the business. However it was awful ordered a kids meal and a cod and chips the chips were old the cod was old , the batter was soggy and didn’t stick to fish (thank god) as I didn’t want soggy batter on top of that the cod was rubbery and clearly old ( see my photo). The bit I’m upset about is it’s a seaside town with high prices on the fish and chips and it’s not even a fresh piece of cod finally the fish finger the oil needs changing as it was dark brown . After the food I’d rate the cleanliness as a 2 they were clearly wiping down tables however I didn’t see them wipe down those surfaces that they were working on nor did I see any hair nets and one member of staff kept pulling up is his top wiping his swetty face and then boxing food I would completely avoid unless you want food poisoning or digestion problems due to the high level of oil retained...

Very disappointing fish from here. Queue to order took about 10 minutes, but then had to wait 25 minutes to actually get food - this was on a Tuesday evening about 6.30pm. Size of fish was on small size for the price, and looked just like a frozen fillet of battered fish from a supermarket. Fish was white inside but very thin - not quite the worst fish I've had but close. I get better fish (bigger, chunkier and juicier) from a place closer to home in the middle of England which is about as far from the sea you can get! I had onion rings with mine, which weren't too bad (how can you mess those up anyway?) but my friend had chips - she wasn't impressed with those either. They looked insipid and barely browned. There must be better places for fish and chips here. Just wish I had found them instead...

Not the best chipper on the island. Probably one of the worst in all UK. For starters, yer man was extra rude. Sure, that comes with Chipper territory. But, then the fish (cod) and chips came extra SOGgy as they were pre-drowned in vinegar and too dead to try to swim in it. They were not salted, so you go after the salt, napkins, and usual sauces. Sorry - they DON’T carry sauces, only vinegar and salt. If they really were the nation’s favourite, they’d at least have HP or brown sauce. All that aside, it was way overpriced for what you get, unless of course, you really like sogginess. We highly recommend that you go further down the road or up the hill to a real restaurant with food that’s good enough for the locals.

Brilliant place, in an even better convenient location. We order 2 chips, fish, steak pie, onion rings and a burger for £25:80 costs a little more than what I wanted to spend on a fish and chips lunch but considering its a holiday makers sea front things are always a bit more pricy so no real grumbles there. The chips were perfect like most of the food was, the pie was quite doughy at the bottom and looked like it could have been done for a bit longer but there was nice staff, everything was clean. Only thing that actually annoyed me is I begrudge paying 20p to have a wee in a restaurant that I've paid to eat in especially when I never had any change
