A lovely unassuming little place. The emphasis is on the quality of the food rather than the decor, which I really like. We had a beef tagliatelle and a pumpkin stuffed pasta in a beautifully delicate cream parsley sauce. 2 starter and 2 mains came to just over £40 which I think is very reasonable. The only thing is the service is slow. We waited over an hour for our mains, which for two fairly basic pasta dishes is quite a long time. It would also be nice to have bread for the starters. Anyway, wish I could give 5 stars but the wait was off putting. We would've had a desert but the table next to us seemed to wait a long time for theirs so thought we wouldn't bother!

We attended one of the pasta making classes today at Butta la Pasta and had an amazing time. We were taught how to make several different type of pasta from scratch, some egg based and some semolina based. Then the chef made a delicious sauce and we got to eat it with some of our homemade pasta! Lots of great touches like drinks, amaretto biscuits, semolina flour and tote bags to take away - as well as several meals worth of fresh pasta for us to eat at home. Would really recommend the experience and, having eaten some great pasta dishes at the restaurant before, it's reminded us that we need to get booked in again! Thank you.

A little hidden gem on the London Road. We had a very pleasant dining experience here. Chef explained the menu in detail for us before we place the order, so that we could make the right decision. All food were made from scratch, nothing can beat a freshly cooked pasta! The homemade fig gelato is definitely worth trying! I also love the homemade meringue, unlike those overly sweet shop bought, their meringue has pleasant sweetness. Would definitely call again! Forgot to mention the homemade lemonade is much better than those commercially mass produced soft drink!

The food was nice, liked the limited menu and the chef explaining the dishes. What was disappointing was that the waitress didn't know anything about the wine or the dishes on the menu. I would expect that the manager ensures that their staff are briefed before the start of a shift and at least knows something about the dishes., especially since there are not that many so it shouldn't be too hard to be more informed. No idea about the wines either and several mistakes were made and we felt rushed when choosing the drinks even though it was obvious we were still studying the menu. Although it didn't concern us as we were early, once the restaurant had filled tables had to wait for their turn to look at the menu board as there's only one to go round. If that had been me, I would have been pretty peeved if I have to wait to just even study the menu. Whilst the board is a nice touch, it's not practical. Just copy a menu for each table and the board and coming round can be an additional service if one5t is happy to wait for that before ordering. But the lack of knowledge of the waitress, as lovely and friendly as she was, spoiled the experience and that's ultimately the managers responsibility. Hope this can be seen as constructive criticism rather than moaning...

What a place! We recently had a double date at Buta la Pasta. On our arrival we were shown the blackboard with the menu and shortly after the chef came over to discuss the menu! Nice touch. Meny is full of authentic Italian pasta dishes. This is complemented with drink list that is full of good Italian wines and beers. Everything is very well priced, especially given that all pasta is freshly made at the premises. That one thing is setting this small restaurant well ahead any competition. None Italian in Sheffield can match quality of freshly rolled pasta. We had 4 pasta dishes between ourselves and they were all superb. Sauces were amazing and they were absolutely faultless. Encouraged by the mains we ordered desserts. Gelato was to die for, lemon tart as well, but the real gem was the courgette cake. Absolutely delicious. It was absolute pleasure to dine at Buta la Pasta its an absolute gem at Sheffield food scene. I hope I will...

The service was very poor and unprofessional from the outset. We ordered 4 starters to taste between 10 but had no side plates. One of the bottles of wine was brought with approximately a glass already missing. The.main meals were served approximately 1hr 10mins after the starters and were comparatively small to say that it was pasta with a small amount of sauce. I had cannelloni which was quite bland and small. The puddings were nice but very cold and served with about one teaspoon of cream. The bill was in email format on one of the waitresses phones and quite difficult to sort out as there was 10 of us. It more or less had to be accepted instantly ? The payment page was predominantly a page telling me how much I wanted to leave as a tip which was totally undeserved. The whole experience was very...
