Myself and my work friends like to dine out every couple of months trying out a new restaurant and this one was on the list. We like to dine early and when we arrived at 6pm the restaurant was empty however it was full by 7.30pm. We were seated at a large window which gave a great view of the street but equally people kept looking in at us which felt a little awkward. I had the stuffed vine for my starter and the stifado for my main course. Both were full of flavour, hearty meals. I'm a big eater but I had to leave a little of the stifado as there was a lot of beef. The presentation of the dishes was 'meh' but the volume and flavour more than made up for that. Read moreFirst visit to the Parthenonas with my wife and a warm welcome awaited us on arrival, we were immediately led to a table central to the restaurant by friendly staff who explained how and what our Groupon Voucher covered. The owner was very friendly and kept us entertained through our visit even though the topic was political it was really good given the state of the country at present. We were offered free Coffees and drinks before leaving, the whole evening was £40.00 including a reasonable tip. Will definitely be back even though it is almost a 2 hour round trip from our...

This was just what we wanted after the "walk in the rain"- a hot dish melting in the mouth. However the main course was not as interesting. Being vegetarians, we had papoutsaki-aubergine stuffed with onions, tomato, cheese and bechamel sauce. Sadly, the only taste left in my mouth was that of sweet onion and cheese. Did not enjoy it much. The 2nd main course veg mousakka turned out to be better. The portion size is good and with all the cheese, two mains actually were too much for us. We would have done well with the starters and one main dish to share. Overall we enjoyed the cosy ambience and the exuberant, cordial,...
