Efes Restaurant — Restaurant in Sheffield

We have visited this restaurant on multiple occasions as a family however our visit yesterday was extremely uncomfortable and distressing. The waiter was standing next to our 8 year old and he dropped a plate on a glass causing it to shatter.

The shards went everywhere as expected when a glass is broken. This included in the meals we had just received and in our drinks.

As the little one was crying we were comforting her/checking the children were not hurt.

We requested that the meals were replaced as it would be dangerous to swallow glass. The waiter argued that shards were not in the food and tried to move us to the adjacent table.

He continued to push back and was extremely reluctant to replace the meals/drinks. This made the experience extremely upsetting for us as we did not expect to have to plead for consumable food or justify why, this was obvious.

For a bill of almost £60.00, as regular customers all we wanted was an easy, welcoming experience and this was the total opposite due to the male waiter (pictured in another review).

Would not recommend at all unfortunately due to the way he handled this situation. Extremely poor...

The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered Chicken Iskender, my husband had Chicken Dolma. Iskender turned out to be a huge portion served in a stone, it kept high temperature for a long time and although it was very good, my husband's choice turned out to be even better. It will be my choice next time. The desserts were delicious as well, all beautifully presented. It's a cozy restaurant with a very nice atmosphere. Guests are treated friendly. I really recommend. From now on, it's our favorite place.

PS. For the owner: The only thing I would change there would be a better organization in the bathroom, specifically bathroom faucets in the sink. They are screwed on, so they prevent the water supply from being cut off with the edge of the hand or forearm. After washing my hands, I had to use toilet paper (lying loose on the toilet) to turn off the water without touching the tap with my bare hand. I believe that in the era of coronavirus, chanterelles should not be turned off. You created a great place to visit, let's make this...

Really amazing service and food.

The covid measures in this restaurant are great, there's a lot more space inside than you'd think and going for a late lunch (lunch is served till 4pm) meant that there were very few people eating at the time.

The service staff were super great and polite and fixed a fairly simple mistake very quickly for us.

Me and my friend (one household scouts honour) shared one lunch special between us which included two starters, a generous portion of what seemed to be bread made in house and a main meal. It was just perfect for both of us having already eaten a bit during the day.

It was incredibly well priced and a really lovely experience.

It can be difficult right now to find somewherenice to eat that feels safe right now and I would say this place definitely ticks all the boxes.
