Sundaes Gelato — Restaurant in Sheffield

Right I recently went to this place let me start off with the customer it is not awful it’s disgraceful then second off all we wasn’t even told to even sit down they looked at us and gave us a rude look absolutely did not make us feel welcome we waited over 45 minutes then what surprised us was the order was half missing then we spoke to someone apparently we didn’t order that but on our receipt it shows it did we paid aswell then one of the staff said sorry you did order it give me 30 minutes I’ll send the desserts out so then we did wait after it arrived we found a piece of hair in the custard and that just put us off we told the manager he said there’s nothing we can do about it and then straight away we walked out and one of the workers said abit sassy aren’t they but what do you expect if this is happening to your order don’t recommend this place to anyone at all customer service everything just don’t recommend it all all traveled all the way from Manchester for this everyone should spend there money...

I just gave it 2 stars because the ice cream was OK, average ice cream, nothing to say about that. The experience on the other hand was terrible. I asked for an ice cream menu, and I was told that the menus are for food, I can have a look for ice cream on the fridges. I wanted something special, for my daughters birthday, we actually travelled for this 20 min, so I asked again about the ice cream menu, and the guy finally realised that they actually have an ice-cream menu. The cups in which we where served the ice cream where just sitting for display on some upper shelves, no rinsing or something to get the dust off for them. The staff attitude was like we were bothering them on a hot day. The staff uniform was made of joggers trousers and shirt, which was adding to the whole scene. The place didn't had AC, or this didn't work, anyway it was hotter than outside. We would have left if it wasn't for disappointing our children, who were expecting a good ice-cream experience. Good variety on the menu.

However, the desserts that come with an Ice cream included- there should be an option to change the flavour if you do not like Vanilla or have allergies. Currently staff are asking you to pay an additional £1 -1.50 to choose another flavour. This doesn't seem to be reasonable considering that you have already paid £6+ for a dessert that should come with an ice cream included.

The seat is set out mainly for large groups. The tables should be split up for couples and smaller groups, rather than having to sit with other groups who are already seated. There were people at one point stood in the middle wondering where to sit as there were no seats available for their group size - there were only seats right next to other smaller groups who were sat in the larger seating area.

Once these few minor issues are ironed out I have no doubt Sundaes Gelato...
