I visited the Globe and ordered my food at 6.30. I had first ordered a cheese and bacon burger and a pint. The bill came to £10.50. I then noticed the offer for an XXXmas burger and pint for 7.99. I asked if I could have that instead. Chelsea - on the till - was very confused. She couldnt find the XXXmas burger on the till. She went to get Amber. Amber changed my order and asked me for more money. I said that didn't seem right and eventually she agreed. She gave me back a pound. This didn't seem right to me either but I let it lie - I wanted my food and had a train to catch. It was now 6.40 I sat down and waited for my food. At 7.10 - after waiting for half an hour and no food - I went to the bar and asked for a refund as I had to go and catch my train. Chelsea was busy and suggested I talk to the chef. I was told by the chef that my food had been waiting for 20 minutes but despite ringing the bell nobody brought the food out to me. I asked for a refund. He said he was not authorised to refund anything and "couldn't do the tills". Chelsea was busy. I asked for the manager and he said she was upstairs and not available. He offered to give me the food as a takeway. I declined. I had to catch my train. So I left the pub £10.50 down with a pint to show for it. I don;t blame Chelsea - the pub was busy and she was clearly overwhelmed. This is by a long chalk my worst pub experience. Customer service is clearly a foreign concept as is adequate staffing. Very very...
Read moreLovely pub, really good crowd, gorgeous food; a number of reasons why this pub has potential however after recently visiting the pub to watch the David Haye fight my opinion has changed hence the rating. After a lovely sitting of watching the fight a bit of conflict occurred due to the sound being turned off by the apparent 'general manager' who dealt with the disagreement of the sound being turned off very poorly and disrespectful. The conflict persisted around the pub creating a hostile environment for not just the gents arguing but fellow customers who were drinking in the pub. Personally I thought the situation was dealt in a unprofessional manner and could have met a compromise with eager customers. Furthermore this doesn't affect the quality of the pub as the majority of my visits have been spelendid and just because of a peculiar incident this will not discourage me from...

Sat with a couple outside on the excellant outside sunny area and see told me that she was brought up in it as a kid when her mam and dad ran it. We'll done Sheffield to the warm friendly welcome that the locals gave us. We hope to return. Pat and Jimmy Jamieson...
