Odeon Sheffield, is a state of the art plush looking cinema in the centre of Sheffield which was revamped a couple years back pre-covid, obviously had to close ,during the majority of the pandemic ,but now since re-opening or being allowed to under government guidelines, it still looks plush shiny,,and the seats are great too when u about to watch a film fully adjustable to you own needs ,so no expense spared there for sure ,a credit to Odeon cinema for that , and yet one of the biggest problems I have with the Odeon Sheffield is it has no Wow factor every time I got to watch a film ,no atmosphere, no feel good vibe comming to Sheffield despite its appearance, the whole cinema experience is no longer there anymore ,(bear with me I will explain my view on this ) Since the pandemic restrictions have been lifted to be allowed to go watch films again the whole set up has been completely from one of meeting the staff at the counter ,asking what's available and have they seem it and general social action with staff and customer to one of being asked have you pre-booked your ticket if not to please direct your self to buy a ticket on one the automatic ticket machines and also if u want drinks and any other treats you have now out that on the ticket machine as well once paid ,you can collect your ticket /Or get it scanned on your mobile pick up your treats and be on your way to quick ever film you come to see ..not much interaction with staff as such between the counter and going to the whatever screen you are going too ,the few times I have been to Odeon just feels like a bit clinical really ,kinda click and collect attitude really, I,'ve had more interaction picking up stuff from going into Argos with the same click and collect attitude, I,m not here to blame staff for there lack of inclusive lack of empathy but I just get the vibe that's what they told to do in a way ,but don't get me wrong u can buy a ticket at a slight push if u only have cash ,they will acomadate if need be ,overall it just seems the empathy of the place has greatly dimished somewhat, it won't stop me from going there in there future,. Just like a I said not atmosphere there at all ...........! Just my thoughts on...
Read moreAs a cineworld unlimited member I wasnt planning on visiting a different cinema. However, the all recliner seats and a date night to plan I often to try out the new luxury provided by the newly refurbished odeon luxe.
The seats are amazing, plush and super comfy. I have to admit they're much more comfortable that the coneworld VIP seats.
The cinema itself was spotless. Clean floors which toy dont stick too. Clean toilet facilities and an overall fun professional vibe.
The screens are much smaller than the likes of cineworld however the screens are also much sharper and noticeably brighter. And the sound is just amazing. Deeper bass and much clearer highs again when compared to Cineworld Sheffield.
With a basic ticket price of around £8 at peak time this is simply amazing. Providing more luxury, better projectors and sound for a much lower cost to cineworld (I know I have an unlimited card but £8 is a bargain)
So what isn't to like? Well nothing really specific to the cinema apart from the floor soundproofing of each room. During a quiet scene if your neighbouring screen is a loud action movie you'll beable to hear it.
Out of personal preference though the smaller rooms mean you can hear more people eating loudly, rustling packets and sometome talking but that's a personal issue of mine... I love perfect silence during movies.
And for me the location is far from ideal. As a driver I am limited as to where to park at a reasonable price. Sure the ocean has a ncp carpark on site but this charges £9-£10 for 3 hours. Around the local area you can find on street parking much cheaper and free from 6,7,8pm onwards. For me I went at 8:30 meaning I could park by the royal mail delivery office and walk up.
For that reason alone I couldn't switch from my Cineworld Unlimited membership. If parking wasn't an issue I would have switched in an instant without...
Read moreI absolutely loved my experience at this Odeon Luxe cinema and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, relaxing movie night. The standout feature has to be the seating—those Luxe recliners are next-level. They’re spacious, plush, and incredibly comfortable, making it so easy to fully relax and enjoy the film. It really feels like a premium experience, and the layout of the theatre means there’s plenty of legroom and no chance of someone blocking your view. The whole place was also very clean and well-maintained, from the foyer to the individual screens, which really added to the overall positive impression.
That said, there were a couple of things that did bring the experience down slightly. First, when I was ordering snacks at the concessions counter, I mentioned everything I wanted individually, and the staff member didn’t point out any available combo deals that could have saved me a bit of money. I only realized after the fact that I could’ve gotten the exact same items in a bundle for a lower price. While this isn’t a huge issue, it does feel a bit sneaky—and I wish the staff had been a bit more helpful or transparent. It's disappointing when it feels like upselling is prioritized over customer care.
Another small downside was the sound quality during the movie. While the visuals were great and the screen itself was large and clear, the audio seemed just a little too quiet. It wasn’t terrible, but I found myself straining to hear dialogue at certain points, which did affect the immersion slightly.
Overall, though, I had a great time and wouldn’t hesitate to come back. With just a few small improvements, this could easily be a perfect...
