Mandega House — Hotel in Sheffield

We had a Double-Room. It was a very modern-looking room, in a prime location right in the centre of Sheffield. There is also an NCP car park a short distance away that is inexpensive due to a discount provided by Sycamore Suites.

The room itself had great heating - you'd have never known it was almost freezing outside - and free WiFi. The bed was inviting and soft, which was very comfortable. There are plenty of sockets for electronic devices/chargers as well as a TV. There was also a complimentary hot drinks tray and a kitchenette. The modern look is complimented by a modern check-in and check-out system: keys are provided for in a locked cabinet which you are given the code for and you text, call or email to check in.

Failed to send check-in instructions, unresponsive to calls and emails. Eventually answered call 2 hours after check in time to say room smelt of smoke from previous occupants so they were unable to let us stay. This was a lie, we were with another couple staying in same block and able to establish that all appartments were in use, they'd overbooked. They cancelled our booking on the day of, despite us talking to them on the phone three hours before about an early check in and no issues being raised.
