Roosters Piri Piri — Restaurant in Slough

I'm not a fan of leaving bad reviews but this one is from a deep frustration. I'll try to keep it short and concise; they don't have half the things on the menu and will scam you out of extra money.

After reading the menu, we made our choices. Two of the 5 burger options were not available so we had to re-think those as it was what we originally wanted. Drink choice; they will offer many things like cloudy apple or lemonade, fresh orange juice etc but in reality they will only give you a can of Coke or Fanta because it's "all they have". Prices of these are of course, inflated to £1.50 each.

Looking at sides, I considered the better option would be 10 wings rather than 5 wings because of their pricing system and that the fries would be a bit cheaper if bought with part of a meal deal. So I went with that. However the fries were added separately bumping the price and then the wings were put as 2 x 5 Buffalo wings, not as the 10 - which would cost £2.50 extra. When I asked the server this, he offered resistance and said they no longer do 10 wings. I pointed to the menu, he said it was an old menu and took it away, even though it was what was given to us when we entered. When I pointed to the 10 wings on the table before me, he said yes it's 10 because it's two 5 wing portions. This was never indicated to us with any signage or when placing the order. So we were unable to get what we originally wanted, we were overcharged for what we did get and then made to feel uncomfortable because we mentioned this.

Although the burger was mediocre at best, the chips were quite good and the service was actually quite quick. It's just a shame about.... Everything else.

I was looking for inexpensive food outlet and the google map showed this place nearby with vegeterian option. I popped in-two tills one working and others busy behind preparing the orders. The place is bit small, the queue made me uncomfortable due to small space. I asked what veg.options they have- he told me they have just sweet potato fagitta and crisps/fries.. I ordered them and wanted faster as I was in hurry....waited about 10 mins and the platter was there. It was on a black cardboard looking plate, fagitta was just medium to small roll cut into two pieces plus crisps in a small square bowl. The lady brought that to me with smile. The fagitta was ok. Crisps fresh but no complementary sauce was there and there was nothing like salt,napkins etc on the table or anywhere in sight. The ambience was good. I am not sure about the meat items but they have limited veg items. They need to work it out as there is no visible menu with price but has to pull the broucher from the till-table or look down to one pasted on the the same table which takes more time deciding your order. And yes the man on the till taking order has to put smile in his face even if it's fake:-p

Establishment with one of the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my entire life.

They have a deal in the menu which I requested, yet they overcharged me and basically blamed it on me and said that the deal is no longer valid. How am I supposed to know if you don’t communicate it clearly before I pay? Is it the customer’s fault if the menu provided didn’t have updated prices and products? They didn’t even have the decency to acknowledge their mistakes, they didn’t refund me for the extra I unfairly paid nor apologised.

Also, most of the things in the menu – from burgers to appetisers and drinks – weren’t available and they kinda force you to buy the 6 oz burgers (and thus pay more) because “they don’t serve the 4 oz ones”.

As for the food, it was okay and they prepared it very quickly. Nonetheless, I can’t recommend this place and I don’t think I will be ever coming back. There are better places in the area where you can get good food AND...
