Upon arrival we checked in and they said we have to move our car into a car park which we had to pay for otherwise we would get fined. It was £20 and a 3 minute drive just to get to the car park and it also had limited times . Then after checking in we were lowkey tired and had heavy suitcases so we attempted to use the lift. Waited for the lift, got in the lift, the lift door closed. I turned to the buttons. Tell me why there were no buttons for any floor until floor 5? Instead there were just holes. Ok fine I'll just use the other lift. Thankfully this one actually had buttons. Tried to press them. Turns out the buttons were protesting. They would not budge no matter how hard I pressed. I asked the staff why they didn't work and they said to use a pencil. Ahh yes let me just use black magic and summon a pencil. Am I here to sleep or am I here to teach maths? So I had to carry my 30kg bag up the stairs as soon as I walked up one step and tried to pull up the bag I realised what torture this was. My spine was splitting in half every single step I took. I felt like Sisyphus rolling that boulder. How would people with wheelchairs or in crutches even get to their room with their luggage. I got into my room and I realised that the rooms were pretty good. Solid bed sheets and pretty clean no flaws. Well down premier inn slough. I then decided to try connect to the internet which I did with relative ease and then I tried to open up TikTok. Tell me why the internet was slower than my mobile data? I could've made my own internet source by the time it could load such small apps. Then the next morning we went to eat breakfast. The food was pretty good we came late so I wasn't suprised some things were all taken. I then tried to get hot chocolate just to realise they didn't do it. They then gave me a mug with cocoa powder and said to use the coffee machine and use the hot milk option to make your own hot chocolate. Pretty simple. I did all the steps and then the milk started to come out. Tell me why sounded like me in the bathroom after having an atomic flavoured wingstop? This thing was refusing to come out. It finally came out for like 5 seconds and then it just randomly stopped. Realised the milk was finished. Tried to go to the other machine. Turn out the other one had signs telling to urgently check the machine as it had signs for overheating. I then asked a staff member to attempt to fix it or somehow get me my hot chocolate. They said to leave it at a counter and then will bring it to us when it is ready. It took a solid 25 minutes. I didn't even want it at that point. Putting milk in a machine never takes this long. Good thing is it tasted quite nice I'll say that. Once I came back at night I wanted to take a nice shower and go to sleep. Learnt how the shower works and got in. Turns out the staff wanted the boil me alive like the coffee machines. I was being roasted by the hot water and no matter how far cold I went it wouldn't change. I couldn't even shower properly because I genuinely would've died if I stood under that for any longer. Overall it was okay. Good food, alright service, tidy rooms and quite a short walk to the train station . But these few things can really make a huge difference. Please fix it. Oh yes I just remembered. The floor in the lobby seemed to unwalkable. I felt like I was walking through glue instead of a floor. I wouldn't even be surprised if I got stuck. Anyways as I was saying please fix these issues and your ratings will be improved by...
Read moreRoom was okay, just what you expect from a premier inn, always reliable. The service what what really let the place down, when you walk in the reception, the two self service desks are out of order so had to wait for someone to come over (we were queuing behind a few other families so had to wait for those to go through first) by the time we got our key it had been over 20 minutes. Parking is terrible it’s in a building unmarked and you have to find a buzzer that’s not shown well at all to let you in. Times are confusing you’re only allowed to park there at certain times and changes weekends or weekday so you have to get up to move your car elsewhere it’s just not great. The restaurant service was shocking, we waited 10 minutes at the empty bar for someone to come and serve a drink, then we said we would be eating and were advised to take a seat, they brought cutlery but didn’t return to take our food order for 35 minutes, luckily my partner had gone up after 15 to order at the bar (he did still have to wait awhile while). After waiting for food for 40 minutes and seeing others get there food before us despite ordering later, we chased up where it was and watching a few waitresses chatter and shake there heads, after 10 minutes and us having to go up and ask them again, they said the kitchen hadn’t received our order but that they were making it and would be our in 5 minutes. I said if it wasn’t we would go as our daughter needed to go to bed. Food arrived just shy of 10 minutes later (an hour after ordering) and only then were we offered free drinks to which we had a fruit shoot and a shandy so hardly worth the time we’d waited. My partners pie was hot and cold in parts so clearly microwaved and the chips were hard so obviously quickly refried whatever they had in a bowl. We barley ate and just left as my daughter needed to get to bed. As we were leaving the table next to us realised they had also been waiting for 45 minutes so I advised to go and ask a server based off of our experience. I should know the restaurant was not very busy at this point maybe half full with 6 ish waitresses. We would have returned for breakfast but decided not to bother again. Just not great...
Read morePerfectly adequate, no-frills accommodation if you are forced to have to have to spend a prolonged period in Slough. I wasn't made to feel especially welcome, but I wasn't subjected to abject hostility either. No information given on my arrival (around 9pm) about availability of evening food, so I have no idea if it was available or not. Breakfast had apparently to be booked at a certain time, so I said 9am (it is served from 6.30am to 10am). Annoyingly, I woke up much earlier, so had to hang around until it got to 9am. Again, after being shown to a table, I wasn't given any explanation of what the set-up was. The hot food was, surprisingly, self-service, but by the time I got to it, there were just 3 rashers of bacon and 2 hash browns left, some sausages, fried tomatoes and baked beans, but no eggs, mushrooms, fried bread etc. Scrambled eggs and a spoonful of mushrooms were subsequently prepared for me, taking around 10 minutes, so was hardly "unlimited" - which is the main selling point of the breakfast. It may well have been more plentiful if I had gone down earlier. The bedroom itself was clean and adequately, if not extravagantly, furnished. The bath was a good size and the hot water plentiful. The air-con didn't seem to work, but thankfully the room wasn't overly hot. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows were too hard and firm - and contrary to the Covid guidelines in the room - did not come in a sealed bag. It's fair to say that you get what you pay for: ultimately, £61 for a night, including breakfast, is a fair price. It goes without saying that you wouldn't choose Premier Inn for an extended holiday or a romantic trip - but then you'd hardly be in Slough anyway if that was what...
