We had dinner here this evening, selecting the fish of the day (haddock with a chorizo crumb served with potatoes and charred little gem lettuce) and the ricotta and mushroom tortellini.
Whilst the concepts for both were good, and we found them okay, the execution for the price was rather lacking.
The haddock was slightly overcooked and so was chewy rather than melt in the mouth and was placed on top of the potatoes and a very wilted and greasy charred lettuce. The dish had far far too much oil, the plate was swimming.
The tortellini had great flavour and the pasta itself was nicely cooked but the ricotta was grainy and swimming in the watery sauce it had created from splitting.
Both dishes lacked anything in the way of vegetables and there was no side salad or vegetables available to order on the menu.
