This is a difficult one for me, I truly believe in reviewing as it hopefully helps a business thrive but I feel and hope the comments Iām about to make will help you guys. 8 of us arrived and were put on a shall we say tight table! But within 5 minutes manager explained a table of 8 had gone over there time and as soon as they were gone we would move to the bigger table (not a problem at all) we ordered food starters came out , now my mussels weee exceptional šš¼ but I then noticed the prawns dish next to me and have to say very disappointing portion of 3 prawns for Ā£15!!! Which in my experience of frequenting alot of restaurants was very poor and certainly not value for money. The Mains came out and this is where I feel I have to comment honestly. In general all our mains very nice BUT and it is a bit in my humble opinion they were all lacking in meat which a few guests around the table commented on this morning and I must say my rigatoni calabrese was lacking in calabrese! We didnāt mention anything on the night as we didnāt want to spoil what was a great evening and we thank you for that. I came from leicester and will return one day so I hope you donāt mind my criticism and look forward...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThere a lot of positive reviews about this restaurant, which is one of the reasons I booked a table. However we were all extremely disappointed. We were given a table upstairs, which is pretty lifeless with zero ambiance. This was probably why the service was less than brilliant. Most Italian restaurants would make an effort, take coats, provide bread and olive oil, or at least give some sort of welcome and show appreciation. We felt slightly abandoned and āparkedā upstairs. The actual food was okay, not amazing, but okay. However everything we needed had to be asked for. It was the least special occasion I have had for a long time. Clearly other people have had much better experiences. Reviews are important and one hopes they will encourage better experiences and service for customers. I love Italy and Italian food and visit there a lot. I hope anyone that reads this review also reads the reply from Alex the manger of Amore and makes their own minds up as to the right sort of attitude to have. I wonāt return to Amore in Stamford, but the following evening we had the most splendid meal with fabulous service in Sarpesh in Oakham - it truly is a brilliant...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had a very mixed experience at Amore. The service we received was exceptional however the food was average to say the least. My main issue was the vegetarian version of the risotto supposedly with radicchio and tallegio cheese, which I love. It was extremely disappointing, not only because I could not taste the tallegio, I could see no radicchio. The rice itself was tasted like it was cooked far too quickly and failed to give that lovely creamy texture
5 Stars for service 2...
