So I’ve had take away twice. Here’s my (perhaps over critical but) honest review:

Both times took a long time to get served, considering the amount of staff working.

First time I ordered a small cappuccino to take away. They use Union coffee which I’m a big fan of, however could have their own house blend. The drink I was handed was more like a latte, not a cappuccino. Took a long time to make it too after taking a long time to get served. Disappointing. We got a bacon leak and cheese pastie too, which was good.

The second time we went, we got a beef and blue cheese pastie, sausage roll, brownie and chocolate twist to take away. The beef and blue cheese pastie had a surprising amount of potato in it, and not enough blue cheese. The beef was almost like a meat ball texture, and had no gravy in it - not great. In my opinion, blue cheese and potato do not go well together at all. The brownie was so soft you didn’t need to chew it - literally no texture whatsoever, not even a crust on it. The sausage roll was good, but felt like it was sat in the heat cabinet for a long time, the pastry was kinda dry. The chocolate twist was good, but similar to the sausage roll, felt like it was sat out for a long time deffo not fresh.

There’s also a spelling mistake on their menu board above the servery… they spelt Babycino wrong, it should be ā€œbabyccinoā€.

I feel there’s a premium price tag attached to this place, especially for takeaway so in my opinion these faults shouldn’t be there.

3.5 stars but google doesn’t allow for half stars. Would go back but deffo not for a beef and blue cheese...

Cornish Bakery in Stamford is a place I visit regularly, and every single time I leave just as satisfied as the last. The staff are always incredibly helpful and friendly , no matter what time of day, you can always expect a warm smile and professional service. The atmosphere is very welcoming, and the tidiness of the place is consistently great . Payments are card-only, which is clearly stated on one of the signs.

As for the food - it’s simply outstanding. Everything I’ve tried has been fresh and truly impressive in flavour. Whether it’s a quick lunch or morning visit for coffee, the quality of the food and drinks is always at a very high standard. The coffee and tea deserve a special mention - they serve very high-quality Arabica coffee, which is always rich in flavour and brewed to perfection.

The long queues are a testament to how popular and well-loved this bakery is. I choose this coffee shop because I know I will always get a great cup of coffee, freshly made pastries, and a warm, friendly service. Cornish Bakery in Stamford meets all my expectations, and I am happy to give them the highest...

Does it cost anything to smile?

Multiple times now we’ve been in for a coffee, and greeted by a member of staff that clearly doesn’t enjoy her job, or working with the general public. Not once have we felt welcomed by this person (don’t know name, but a brunette). It comes across as if just us being there is a hindrance to her hectic life? Seriously? We’re helping the business to help keep staff by literally drinking a coffee!! Yet it feels like we’re not welcome. Not just us but every customer I saw her greet, get the exact same treatment. What’s the problem? If it’s the customer then your in the wrong job!

Otherwise the coffee is good and so are the pastries. It’s also nice to see them baking their products. Just a shame about...

I went there this morning and I wish I had done it earlier. The selection of pastries was endless from savoury to sweet. There were also some Portuguese custard tarts and some brownies and cakes. It was very tempting, a nice treat for the eyes. We tried the pistachio croissant and the apple crumble, and we loved them. The pistachio croissant tasted like baklava, which was amazing. The apple crumble was OK, but maybe ask for it to be warmed up next time. The coffee was nice too. The staff were very friendly and efficient. We hardly had to do any waiting for our order. I had some take away scones to try at home, and they tasted lovely, really home made scones šŸ˜. I will definitely go there again!

Went in a couple days ago, was amazed with the place, just what Stamford needs, their coffee is the best in Stamford, I also had a almond and cherry croissant, I've never had one that good, the filling was just different to what I've had before, will definitely be back. The pasties look lovely and very different to the ones I've seen before, good selection of pastries
