ASK Italian - Stamford — Restaurant in South Kesteven

Last night was simply awful, we were aware it would be busy due to Mothers day but that is still no excuse for the service. Our table didn't have a number or QR code like every other table. One of the cutlery was missing a napkin, felt like we were put at a used table. Other tables were offered jugs of water, we didn't receive this. They were very clearly understaffed, which left guests being ignored despite us trying to flag down servers when the below issues occurred.

Drinks took a while to arrive. Ordered a Passion Fruit martini, which arrived with chunks of dehydrated raspberry on top, this wasn't described on the menu. I've never had a PFM arrive with raspberry. Due to it being in liquid, it quickly rehydrated and became a slimy mess on my drink. Asked for it to be replaced. It didn't arrive until we we're halfway through our mains. One of the mains arrived way behind the others at the table, a member of staff said they'd go and get the dish and cheese for the table and simply never returned after telling us she'd spilled the Honey Luganica Sausages over the table. We had to chase down another staff member to get the remaining dish. The Spaghetti al Pomodoro was watery, bland and had hard stems of Basil throughout the dish which were inedible, It was also lukewarm at best in the centre. The Linguine Carbonara was also incredibly bland with very minimal pancetta, and very much tasted like it had been sat under the heat lamp.

Ordered the Tiramisus for dessert and it just got worse. The Tiramisus arrived still frozen, my mother thought she'd accidently ordered tiramisus ice cream (which this restaurant doesn't serve).

We will not be back whatso ever, terrible experience. It was incredibly overpriced for the quality and experience. I mainly feel sorry for taking my Mum here on...

When i ventured upon this very Trendy and Popular Italian Restaurant i was very Impressed by it's Frontage and Inviting Menu near the front doors. I went in and spoke to the Maitrè De, could i have a table for one please. It was no peoblem. I was really looked after by the Food & Beverage Servers. To drink, i decided to have a Pint of Birra Moretti. I sat down at my table and had a Good peruse at the Menu. I chose for my Starter the Calamari and for my Main the Chicken & Chorizzo Carbanara. I just relaxed and Enjoyed my Birra Moretti Beer waiting for my Calamari. There were a few Customers in the Stunning Italian Styled Restaurant. My Starter was brought to my table and served to me. I was very Impressed with my Calamari in Batter with a Garlic dip. This was really Delicious. After i had finished, my Main was brought to me. A rather Generous Bowl of Pasta in a Thick cream sauce with Big Pieces of Chicken and Chorizzo Sausage meat. It looked Incredible. This really Excellent and very Delicious to Savour. I did not have a Sweet, i just had another Beer. My meal was Absolutely the Best Italian i have ever had. The Bill, i thought was very reasonable at only £ 34.50 pounds and a Gratuity for the very Friendly Server. I will be coming back for another meal. I Recommend this Great place in Stamford....

We recently dined at Stamford, and I must say, the experience was made all the more enjoyable by our exceptional waitress, Anna. From the moment we were seated, her warm demeanor and genuine smile set a welcoming tone.

Anna was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, enthusiastically recommending dishes based on our preferences. She was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring our glasses were never empty and checking in at just the right moments.

What truly stood out was her ability to handle a busy dining room with grace and efficiency. Despite the restaurant being packed, she maintained a calm demeanor, making us feel like we were her only table. Her passion for the restaurant’s offerings was evident, and she effortlessly created an inviting atmosphere that enhanced our overall experience.

In a world where excellent service can sometimes be hard to come by, Anna exemplified what it means to provide outstanding hospitality. We left feeling not only satisfied with our meals but also grateful for the wonderful service. We'll certainly be returning to Stamford—and hoping to be served by her again....
